1 Meter Tsunami 7.3 EQ Off Japanese Coast ; 53 After Schocks!

we're up to 26 aftershocks

only one under 4.0

Way back when....

Way back when the first couple of events happened off the Japanese coast on 3-11-2011, there were a few other minors swarms before the main event, People became so complacent with the continuos aftershocks they quit reporting them.

What I see know is pretty much the same thing happening as I type this. The aftershocks are barely being noticed by the media....

If you remember, like I remember, we have damn near an exact scenario unfolding. What I feel is missing is another 7.0 or greater to really confirm that we have a scenario that will make history here at GLP.

it would be nice for a change if Dr.Acula was the guy who had the thread for a change that was the top runner for most notable of the people who paid attention when others got bored and moved on...

I feel that if we see another major quake soon off Japan's coast, well have this thread to always say....these people saw it coming first, and they didn't waiver.

Time will tell I guess, in time.

Thats why I have been keeping my eye these after shocks and updating them as they come in.

I'm hoping its over! But I have a gut feeling its not...
In any measure at least I was looking.

If another big one doesnt happen... its a total win... i'll just attribute my gut feeling to doom indigestion...

If one does happen... then the info is there.

I'm right here with the rest of the group, backing you and the thread.

I'm not going to lose sleep if Japan quiets down, I'd prefer it rather than see people die. If it ramps up, then we have a mystery unfolding that is unparalleled in history.

Either way, win win for science, geology, oceanography....

Yeah the shocks are still holding pretty close to the location of the 7.3

last one was a 4.7

yeah i think they are kinda used to quakes by now. Here in Kentucky we had a 4.3 and it shook pretty decent. Most people didnt know what it was lol a lot were freaking out and stuff.

if we got hit with something worse... this area would be crippled! Japan on the other hand... they got the building code down to a art... not to mention the rebuilding effort!

Minor quakes, overall quiet...

All we need now s rainbows and butterflies mixed with a parting of the clouds.....no, seriously, the air outside right now is so still here in the PNW that even my wife said she could hear the neighbors talking in their driveway down the street....that quiet.

I love night... during the last 10 year I've hardly went to bed before 5am



Spent a lot of time star gazing... watching the night rain... just being outside at night...

where I live I dont have a neighbor for half a mile... and the only light is my yard light... no street lights or anything... ever... and I can turn off my yard light... done so many many times to see the stars etc...

I know this is gonna sound bat shit crazy...



but i swear its darker at night... its like an eerie blanket of darkness that wasnt there 6 months ago...

Maybe I need an eye exam? lol
maybe im just reading into things too much...

I try to be logical... i try to debunk everything...
so its prolly me just being batty...
but i think the "darkness" is a sign of something coming... something drawing closer...



But if the 7.3 that just happened has any parallel to the March 2011 quake... then the next few hours is the time frame to know...

if anything its a theory to test.

I wouldnt bet money on it... lol

but looking doesnt cost/hurt

Last summer I would do that. It was my first trip to Tennessee, and I would sit outside in the dark at night with the dogs and watch the lightning and my very first fire flies, and the stars. It was awesome. Every night that I could, I did.

the fire flies are beautiful arent they?

I've seen them more times than I can count...

they are all over my place in the summer...

but i can watch them for hours

even though i have seen them hundreds of times...

I still think they are beautiful and a gift to witness :)

They were terrific! I was sooo excited, like a kid, when I saw my first one, I couldn't wait to see more. Only saw a few total, but still neat. Lucky dog, that you have them all over.

but traveling around and not seeing them and the other things here that make this place beautiful...

it put it into perspective for me...

Despite what everyone thinks, I really think that California is up next for a big quake.

I am betting on the Oregon/Cali area getting a big one. The guatamala area is ongoing with moderate eqs so it seems a big one up higher is needed to equal out the pressures.

A few hours ago there were three red quakes at once. One went tan...but another appeared red! It has become intoxicating to watch.

I know, it's crazy!!! Cali is having one on an average about every 10 minutes which seems like a lot more than normal. It has been this way for about a week.

Ive been where you are before Dr., I've lived in the California desert so far from others that the silence rang in your ears deafening, the night skies were filled with many of nights just laying out in the yard on a lawn chair watching the Mojave greens slithering about, the scorpions trying to get into anything you set down.

I loved those times, but hated the dry hot summers and decided the green forests of the PNW would be my resting place for a while. I've now got a beautiful large 12" dobsonian ready for the daylight comet that comes next year..... But I've also got the itches to dry out from the 9 months of rain.

Maybe it's time to move on again.... I've done southern Illinois and witnessed the fireflies as a young teenager. THAT, THAT was something I wish to one day show my wife and daughters, they just can't understand that a bug can self illuminate.

In the posts above me, most seem to think Cali and Or are next for the big hit, I can't disagree. I've downloaded most of the reports, studied their expected 30+ meters of western movement over 9 minutes... And realized there isn't shit I can do about it.

We are the current inhabitants of this planet, more species have died trying to get where we are now than all the bugs insects and fish combined. We are next, just not right now.

We still have a lot f good times ahead.

Good sized quakes reported off Japan's coast....

A couple of 5's back to back.

This Morning they warned us again for
a big one, as far as i understand (not native)
they even know the exact Location of
the Hot Zone and draw conclusions to two
quakes, the first was 1896 and the second
one was in 1933.

Both Quakes came with huge Tsunamis and
a high Death-Toll!

In the last hours we have only very slight
Tremors here in Tokyo, sometimes a little
Bump but nothing big which i like a lot.

But my only fear is located in F'Shima,
even when i believe that the Buildings
are stable but this do not mean ". nothing
can happen", naeh, so desu!
