Its becoming apparent to me im a rare breed of people that actually has feelings COMBINED WITH rational though

The vast majority of people are empty vessels. Sometimes I think they might just be actors to fill in the scene. They certainly seem to be programmed.

No one on Earth, at least no human, has or is capable of rational thought.

Bbut some chose to buy into the illusion that they do or can.

OP I am the same as you! Because of this I have learned to suppress empathy in order to interact with my fellow man.
I have had to fake interest in B.S. in order to not be beat by retarded drug addicts.
I can literally feel what a woman thinks about me, disgust or magnetic lust!
I can tell when someone is lying to me and I can tell if someone discovers I am telling a lie.

Empathy sucks!

I mean, I sense my feelings urging me to do things, but I also think about whether those potential actions might violate my ethical principles.

Oh, that's just shallow, arrogant garbage. Anyone capable of rational thought knows that there are many different levels of rational thought. Even if human beings are not the most intelligent beings in the universe, some of us are more self-aware than others. That's what the OP was talking about, I think. Some people just seem to act on simple instinct (like animals), while others do actually stop and think about the consequences of their actions.

We live in a cruel world. Apathetic. I find myself ruining my own true self by going with the crowd. Sometimes being fake is part of survival. It sucks and I'm just as guilty as others. Deep down though, I do care about people. But it sure makes it hard to do when everyone seems so damn shallow, shut down and stupid.

rational is case specific to the individuals perception of what"rational" is,and their experiences that formed that perception.

I was an A student and I had to work at it to be one. I was around some really brilliant people earlier in life. As I try and speak to most people today about things what I hear coming back at me is...OMG your so brilliant, you just know so much and how did you get so smart? If I am the smartest guy in the room anymore we are in deep shit.
