it is destructive because it has: killed people and animals and plants and nature and natural resources etc
it is non destructive because it has increased the living age of people, increased the population, created lots of new things, ideas , concepts, civilization etc
from one point of view it is like a disease from another point of view it is just a living organism like any other or no other
on the other hand chinese, indian, south american indian etc has too had similar traits
