yes, but a lot comes into play...terrain, weather conditions etc

it should be sensitive enough to pickup "reflected" waves

in reality, if the police in oz are like the USA they have units now that scan out the front and back windows getting both directions

Laser detectors have a front and rear facing "window" that should have a good view thru the rear window. Escort's detectors are awesome!!!!! I've got three! One for each vehicle.

Radar/laser detectors are great. Used them for 20 years. But if a cop really wants to get you he'll get you. Gotta be smarter than the pig and you can't totally rely on a machine to make you invisible.

There is a book written by a retired NY State Trooper called the Speeder's Guide to Avoiding Tickets. I read it back in 1988 so I'm not sure if its still around. But it's a must read.

I'm a speeder. I don't put others at risk but I do not take my time. I recently went from Detroit to West Branch Michigan on a Sunday morning in 2 Hrs 15 mins. It's usually a 4 hour drive at least. Averaged between 100 and 125 MPH with straight always at 135+ in my E320 Benz. A slow meandering freeway at that speed is a white knuckle drift.

I once did 160kms in 1 hour. Had to go through a town, and it was raining as well.

And 60kms in 20mins at night. The last 20kms of which was dirt road.

And 70kms on a bike in about 18-19mins.

But that was then, this in now.

Usually travel under the speed limit to save on fuel.

Just to let you know that if you get done by the cops with the radar you will get a fine and might loose your car under the hoon laws... not to say end up on the news as a xmas death toll ...

Yea. I'm looking at getting a diesel. No more speeding.

My Pajero has done 290,000kms so waiting for it to die.

Will buy something a bit less thirsty when that happens.
