Bits of iron, maybe a secondary metal like magnesium.

The green glow is the metal oxidizing in the atmosphere.

Maybe it was space debris or a meteor.

I was having a cigarette when I saw a green flash behind me, I turned around and saw a medium sized red streak in the sky that dissipated quickly.

What the fuck..

It was not a meteor. I just looked at some green meteor footage. This thing happened behind me but it was such a bright green flash that it startled me and made me jump to look, and all I saw was a red trail.

If the Green lantern and the Flash had a manlove-child, he would be the Green Flash. You, sir, saw a superhero in the making.

No way a meteor caused that.
 Quoting: CynthiaTakeFive

Yes... way... It was a meteor. It wasn't an airplane, or ufo, they don't make spectacles of themselves. The only thing remaining is a meteor.

Not going to be able to cover it up much longer, to many people with technology handy in their pockets. The internet was a huge mistake.

Multi-state "booms".

Multi-county Texas poles burning/on fire

Now, unusual objects in the skies?

In another thread, someone from Germany posted a German-based article about a nuclear test happened in Nevada within the last day or so? Can anyone confirm that? If so, could that be the cause?

Re: Green flash in the sky, followed by red trail? Houston, Tx
My husband called me this morning around 7:20am.
He asked "have you been watching the news or anything?" His voice was pretty shaky. I asked him what was wrong/what happened.

He said they just got on location in Flatonia, TX ( oilfield) and were getting out of the truck (about 7:05am) , when there was an extremely bright flash in the sky. A camera like flash in the entire sky. He and all of his 4 crew members saw it.

His boss who was just driving into location was on the phone with another tool pusher on a location 3 hours away in centerville tx. When the tool pusher parked, he jumped out of the truck and asked them if they saw it. He said while he was on the phone, the other pusher said " WTF" as he saw it too.

When I was leaving my kids at Daycare I heard two moms talking about it, one saw it on a jog, in Bryan, TX.

Any idea what could cause something like that that could be seem in that big of a radius?

Nothing to see here, just another "meteor" .

That excuse is about used up I think. If it was such a non-event, you think people would have been used to it by now ????

Re: Green flash in the sky, followed by red trail? Houston, Tx
is anybody here from the UK (like me)? yesterday around 9pm, so about 8 hours ago me and my friend saw a big green flash and then another one a couple seconds later.
We didn't see any red streak so I don't know if we saw the same as you guys but it was a little overcast so maybe we couldn't see the whole deal. But still, what the fuck was it?
