The entire article you have posted can be viewed as being wrong as it neglects two simple facts:

- Yes Islam is not really a religion in our western understanding of the word and it never claimed to be. It is a system that governs the social-economical and religious life of the members of its community (if Islam is in majority within the country if not they submit to the positive/secular law)

-The interesting point comes next; in Islam there are the exoteric teachings that are mainly laws for the masses. There are various views and interpretation but the predominant one today is the salafism (financed by the Saudis and indirectly by the US) and this sect totally rejects the second aspect of Islam : the esoteric (or spiritual) teachings known as tassawuf or Sufism in Islam. The schism that appeared with Abul Wahab (founder of the wahabism) created the barbaric version of some modern muslims, this school of taught widely spread after the decolonization of muslim countries benefiting from the lack of knowledge that people had of their own religion.

My country doesn't accept foreign aid from the US. Certain public and private organizations accept aid from the US and use it to increase their own personal wealth and power. The money does not trickle down to the common Pakistani and does not contribute towards stability and development.
Do you think that the US government doesn't know what happens with their money? They give aid just to keep the puppets in power here happy and content with their bribes.
