The meditation you wrote resonated so deeply...
I volunteer with a group that helps to assist healing, both physical and mental. I'm mostly a shoulder to lean on as this is what the wounded need most in the beginning, until they find their 'legs' again, but, when I do find it appropriate, I try to express an idea that out-sourcing our emotions (i.e. looking for emotional validation from others) is certainly a perspective that empowers others, but self-sourcing is empowering to everyone! When one is able to truly love themselves, it is then that they can give freely of that love to others.
