How will the bird population be effected?
Four things necessary for our survival!!! Biodiversity Interdependence between species The Law of FINITE Resources Don't crap where you eat...
They're poisoning all the rats where I live, on the edge of the desert and killing the peccaries (wild pigs that are actually members of the rodent family) because they're a nuisance (by drama and tall tale only) to the people in the "planned" community here..
The prey birds, mainly owls and hawks, are eating the poisoned rats and dying! The same with the coyotes, which did a great job of keeping the rodent population under control.
Those birds or prey also eat scorpions. I spent the day in the hospital from being stung by a Bark Scorpion last week. The only potentially deadly scorpion in the US. I've been stung before by other scorpions, no problem. This was on the back of my neck (Barks are the only ones to climb, hence the name). I blacked out about 15 minutes later.
Now the small dogs that were being left unattended in backyards and attacked by the coyotes and peccaries are being stung by the scorpions and dying. People are finding the Bark scorpions in their bathtubs and kitchens. AND AZ discontinued the use of the anti-venom in 2004.
Nature always seeks a balance. Leave it alone. It always wins in the end.
