Why are Jamacians so F'ing arrogant and rude?

Don't worry your beautiful head! I have dealt with so many arrogant, stuck-up, ignorant and loud-mouthed Jamaicans. Jamaicans are, in fact, a HUGE embarrassment to black people as a whole (NOT the so-called "black American" because "black" Americans are actually mixed (due to slavery). I had to deal with the most arrogant middle-aged Jamaican woman about two months ago for an upgrade course to enter my specific college program and I had the sheer bad luck of working with her on a group project. She always had a chip on her shoulder, bragged about her Jamaican-this or Jamaican-that. She was impossible to work with or deal with and tried to sabotage my presentation. I loathe her to this day! Thankfully I am no longer in her class and have found/made new friends. But Jamaicans also have a very ignorant mentality. It really is like talking to four-year olds! Their knowledge is so limited and they act like they know so much! Because I worked hard on my portion of the presentation, she decided to purposely cut it down due to the fact that her portion was short. She always tries to bring other people down to boost herself up. She is the most stuck-up woman I have ever met! But generally, Jamaicans are too boisterous and need to tone down their behavior.

I know some people that just came back from a honeymoon there. They said every Jamaican asked them if they needed any weed...Hotel workers..cab drivers...waiters..

Let me help you identify your frustration. You're frustrated that the rest of the world hates Jamaicans, and you're too stupid (typical) to understand why. You're frustrated that this "generalization" is actually the most accurate way to describe the culture.

Culture of men who beat women, loud and self-righteous individuals, who are really just sheep of a superficial perception. Self-hating women who are insecure, and obnoxious to compensate for their failed life. How do I know? I lived in Kingston jamacia for a year on a contract .i saw and experienced a lot of things.

They have no. Mental health facilities down there so they live on the street,I was chased by one one day ..he was screaming blood clot whitey.. Lol

A friend had the same thing happen except this guy was totally naked.

I had a girl I had sex with once stalk me.for 6months ,she even showed up at my job.

I would say it's because they only know about ten words so they have to perfect their evil eye in order to get attention and "respect" from others who are mentally above them.

I like Indians, they are super friendly and funny to me. They can be kind of aggressive trying to sell you something though. But overall I think Indians are awesome, maybe I haven't been around enough (never been to India I admit)

My best friend is Jamaican, his family is like a second family to me and none of them are arrogant or egotistic. They are I fact really nice people.

I have a loooong history with this beautiful island, and it's wonderful people, besides having lived there for 4 years with my family as a young woman. My parents so fell in love with Jamaica, they had their last child there, retired to Boscobel, and have never looked back.

In my experience, Jamaicans are very soulful, passionate people. The island has a proud history of theatre, the arts, and fashion, besides having a rich history which predates the colonization of Jamestown and New England.

It is true, just as in other cultures, that a Jamaican may become haughty and full of vexation when they have been treated unfairly, spoken to in a rude fashion, or feel someone is trying to get the best of them. Those are the times when the ire may very well come out, along with a heavy serving of patios which will be dished-out in such a fashion that even duppies may think to flee from the woods, but it is more a matter of pride and principle.

What you have said about Jamaicans not particularly liking Americans of color may or may not be true, yet it is something I have experienced at times, and have had explained to me. Because of the extensive tourist trade, many Jamaicans work within the various industries which support it. Once I had some friends who were very troubled about a particular couple at the resort where they worked close to were I lived. I knew who they were referring to because I had been there to witness some embarrassing exchanges throughout the evening.

While we were all hanging out after the venue closed to the public, in their ire they explained to me that black Americans tended to treat them as if they were of low class and uneducated. Their impression was one of 'airs' that were unnatural, unnecessary, to make themselves appear superior. Later when I worked at a 5 star restaurant, I got to witness this myself at times...so I think I may understand the underlying consideration here.

Yet, I doubt this is the norm, just the difference about who tends to treat whom with the utmost respect. If you watch the way Jamaicans carry themselves, you might realize that most stand tall and walk upright with ease, in a dignified fashion.

Jamaicans are reasonable people, keen observers, shrewd and confident. There are very few I have met who are not wise beyond their years. I have known quite a few who have been considered seers as they've aged. They are also industrious and patient.

Even though I would be considered a nobody here at home, in Jamaica I have been friends to -not merely an acquaintance of- people in all social classes, from those in high positions, to those who live in shanties. I have never been disrespected, and never made to feel an outsider because I was American or the only person without pigmentation 'in the crowd'.

My suspicion is that those you have met may have had a very hard struggle getting to where they are today, or have been maligned unfairly by enough people that they are on their guard as a protective mechanism.

It's hard for me to believe that 'just like that' Jamaicans have become mean-spirited people. I do not believe this, my family still lives there, and I can't wait until I have the opportunity to return.

I can see some being like this, I work in store and sell slabs of ribs to one, and though he barely speaks coherent english he's very impatient and gets mad if you cant understand him, and sometimes just swings his hand and walks away.

I also get mad when Indian guys order catfish

When I was the Chef of a very high end golf club in the Ozarks we brought Jamaican labor over to mow grass and work in the kitchen, the ones that worked for me were good Christens They worked very hard, but were like ten year old kids in mental power. The biggest problem we had was that they stole any thing that was not nailed down. I used to give them the heads off fish and they would make fish head soup! I had visited there several years before this and had made me a ju ju bag I had it hanging on the end of the cook line and told them that if they did me wrong I would hex them, they treated me very well. The average yearly income in Jamaica is about $1500 to $ 2000 U.S.Like all people you have good and bad.
