A World Without the Second Amendment...

I'm studying criminology and one of the things my professor cannot stress enough is the fact that we should think critically about pretty much everything. Sure, it's great that individuals have the right to own a gun to protect themselves and their families (although in America you're slowly losing the right to own a gun) but is that really the answer? As the world looks today it sure seems like the only option but there are other ways to tackle the problem. If you have a problem with your car, if your oil lamp turns on what do you do? Do you tackle the problem or just turn off the light? Both ways could work theoretically but your car will break down after a while, that's inevitable.
Should we make sure every citizen owns a gun or should we tackle the problem? With that I mean to completely eliminate crime. As I said I study criminology and I understand that it's practically impossible to get rid of crime. But I was just sharing another perspective. We should all work hard to get rid of crime, or significantly lower it! There are hundreds of things we can do to fight crime. Neighborhood watch etc etc.

But until crime is completely gone, make sure you stay protected. That's how I see it at least. I myself will never own a gun, an air rifle perhaps. An air rifle will keep the enemy away from me and it won't kill him/her :D
All of us are aware how the world looks so there seems to be no other option than purchasing a gun. But you people in America must realize that you will lose that right in a few years. Martial law will be implemented any time now and you will lose the one thing that keeps you protected. What I suggest you to do is to stock up on food and water and build a shelter in some isolated place. That way you will not be rounded up to have your gun removed because you would live in this isolated place until all this is over.

neighborhood watch is excellent but it is no good when it comes from something bigger. who do you ask to form these groups to get rid of crime the government? i agree how nice to live in a world where guns aren't needed but as history shows and Europe is outstanding to look at for that history governments eat people no matter what and the governments of today are through so many routes like single big banks corporations. the lines are blurred and it is international the only i can see who is making any signs of putting up a fight is Island but it is a small population and it's government/police finally understood it was it own mothers fathers sisters and brothers suffering

Our country is so pathetic. Government's kill hundreds upon hundreds of millions of people...a gun wielding psychopath kills barely two dozen and these people want all law abiding citizens to give up their guns, so that only the government can have them. Wow, how insane they truly are! I hate the death of innocence no matter who is the culprit, but the guns are the solution, not the problem! ARM THE TEACHERS! ARM THE TEACHERS! STOP PUBLIC EDUCATION! END STATE-SPONSORED EDUCATION! BUT, IF YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE IT: ARM THE TEACHERS!
