I just saw a squirrel trying to pull a freshly ran over, dead squirrel off the road with its hands.. made me sad

He was probly trying to eat it hahahahahahaha

I have seen this before...very sad. of course, they have some feelings.

This guy isn't even joking, squirrels will cannibalize if they want to. They're basically cute looking rats.

He was prolly trying to take the nuts from the dead squirrels little paws....

honorable thing to do is to pick up the critter in a sanitary way off the road and place it back to where it can decompose to nature..

Its pretty sick watching a carcass get run over , over and over again...

If its safe and not a busy road, Id take it off.

Dogs do that, but it's surprising with squirrels. Feel better and bless you for having a tender heart.

Yeah, I came across a disturbing scene too.
I saw a guy on a country road nealt over the body of a rabbit, he was giving it the kiss of life.
I said leave it mate, it's a gonner.
He turned and looked at me,blood on his face, and he said 'enam yam yam'

honestly... i was getting in my car this morning and saw a squirrel pursuing another then mount it and gave a couple thrusts before thrown off...

ive seen a squirrel pick up a dead squirrel and move it around tried to climb a tree with it shit was nasty weird....

Im siding with the fact that the squirrel wanted fresh meat, They will eat anything,

One time we were eating a pepperoni pizza delivery in our front yard picnic. We stepped away for a few minutes and saw a squirrel running off with a slice of pizza. lol.. it was kind of big for him, so he was more dragging it away.

The squirrel even came back to grab the breadsticks..

True story:

I have huge pecan trees in my yard, so naturally I have plenty of squirrels.

One day a momma squirrel was chasing her babies up and down
a tree next to my patio. She would catch a baby and take it
back up the tree to her nest... but then another baby would
make a run for it and she would chase that one down too.

This went on for a few minutes, then a baby fell from the
tree on to the patio. I could see it laying there breathing.
Then the breathing stopped.

Slowly the momma squirrel came closer to the dead baby...
then she carried it away towards the alley. Then she did
something remarkable.... she came back to the exact spot
on the patio where her baby had died and she laid on her
stomach with all her limbs spread out. She laid there in
that pose for several minutes like she was mourning her baby.

Some humans don't have feelings

I feed the birds and squirrels in my yard. One day I saw a squirrel low crawling on her belly, obviously injured. She couldn't get up on her hind legs to open a peanut, so everyday I saw her, I would shell the peanuts, and she would allow me to come closer, or she would low crawl towards me.

I saw her getting stronger each time she came to eat, and one day, she got up on all fours and ran away. Her recovery took about a month. What a good feeling to see her well again. After that, she came to me everytime I called her. Now I have about four who come to the door to get the nuts I give them. One has no use of a front paw, but she does well. The females are more trusting than the males, but there is one male who comes to the door.
