I just saw a squirrel trying to pull a freshly ran over, dead squirrel off the road with its hands.. made me sad

I think the thing is that we have ravaged animal species so devastatingly that we DONT want to view them as having feelings because then we will actually start to see how horrible we truly are. If you can watch those slaughter house videos and senseless cruely and not feel anything than you are neither animal nor human in my opinion you've become a monster.

I remember that story. Beautiful that they saved the baby.

Considering they are low to the ground and have never driven a car they can't tell how fast you are going. The light blinds them and they have no clue what they are doing. If the best you've got from using your rational human mind is that they are dumb then maybe you are.

If a cat gets his front legs ripped off by a dog should the fight be stopped before the cat is dead if you would be unwilling to put it out of it's misery?

I'm the wrong person to ask that. I firmly believe that animal owners should keep their pets indoors and in their back yards.It's our job to keep them safe. I've rescued injured animals before. I pulled a pit bull off the freeway that had been stabbed numerous times and thrown out like garbage. They put her down at the vets office she couldn't be saved but we have to at least try because you never know.

How naive to think that after 540 million years of complex evolution, only one animal species has feelings!

To those who think running animals over is fun to make fun of. Imagine someone making a crack about you or someone you know on their death bed. It doesn't feel good.

One of the worst things I have ever seen was a dog was hit and it was still alive sitting up staring at the oncoming cars its entire body was twisted and mangled beyond belief. The look in the dogs eyes was a mixture of agonizing pain, shock, sadness, and acceptance. His or her life was over yet they watched each car go by full of uncaring humans till they took their last breath. How would you feel?

So this why the planet is so fucked up, this is why so many animal species are on the brink of extinction. You dumbass religitards thinking you can stomp over and destroy everything in the name of a fairy tale... and be rewarded for it after death. Pathetic!

I saw it with a possum (o'possum?) one time. Went to the store and one was lying dead in the road. When I came back another one was sitting next to it staring at me as I drove by like it was mourning it's friend. Or mate, or whatever.

That is so sad :-(

How about how animals know when their owners are sick? Stories of animals staying by the side of their owners till they passed away. Also, I remember a story of a woman who had a pig as a pet. She had a heart attack or stroke and the pig squeezed through the doggy door and had scratched up his sides they were all bloody and he got the attention of the neighbors and that is the only reason the lady is probably still alive. We take them for granted. They even see more than we do into the spiritual world. Ever see your dogs or cats staring at nothing and barking and meowing at thin air? Yeah, makes you wonder what they are seeing that we cant.

I have seen a swallow trying to feed a run over swallow, probably the mate.

There's an individual on here that believes animals don't have souls. He's mentioned it about dogs in particular several times. He's entitled to his opinion.

My opinion is that anything that's capable of love has a soul.

Over 300 middle eastern vets suffering from PTSD have sworn they wold have taken their own lives if it wasn't for the love of their dogs. Both the ones at home and the ones they were able to bring home from war. That's just one example.

Dogs experience and express love and show it in too numerous ways to even begin to list here now. Therefore, DOGS and other animals HAVE SOULS!

I saw the same thing once. Heartbreaking. The survivor squirrel was visibly upset and doing everything it could to move the other squirrel before another car came. Would be nice if people would slow down and take care to avoid hurting animals.

Someone hit a little yellow canary(maybe finch?) on my street last spring and its mate kept flying over to it, then flying a few feet away when a car would pass.

So I stopped and picked the little dead bird up and moved it to the side of the road so its friend could mourn without losing its own life.

I have a dog laying next to me right now that i picked up off the highway after he had been hit. He was in bad shape, but is healthy as could be now, and is a sweet big dummy who loves everything(even the ducks).


I can't NOT stop and help a being in need. I just can't walk away. I've pulled them, dead or alive, off the road. If they're alive, I help them. If they're dead, I mourn for them. That's what you do. My children do it too.

We will stop everytime and move a turtle off the road, even if that means stopping traffic. Fuck you, you'll wait. I'm saving a life here. And just so you guys know, when you move a turtle, always take it to the side of the road its heading toward. They're not bright, and they're following instinct, so they will turn around and go right back into the road, unless you take them where they were heading.



I've had semi trucks stop traffic on the interstate so I could get a dog out of the median who was blinded by mange and was freaking out in the grass median. Thank god for those truck drivers, because interstate 70 traffic moves fast.

We even pick up the worms on our driveway and put them in ourlandscaping.after the rains have passed.

I am a SAP of the highest order.

Someone said that bull to my face once about animals not having souls. Sometimes you just have to slap some sense into them, literally ;-p lol
