I was sitting on my deck in Wellington. Thought it was going to be the big one. Deck furniture was swaying and rocking heavily. Cat totally freaked out. Came inside and the shuddering went on for a while. Can't believe we felt it so strongly when Tokoroa is so far away. I know it was because it was so deep - still I thought it was a big local one.
