Why? As the previous poster stated WHY did they say this? If the customer was being a prick, than yes, definately would allow this. Just because most people live by the failed mantra of "the customer is always right" does not make it so. Pansy corps seem to bend with every wild hair up someones ass... if the company has a solid service or product, you don't need asshole patrons...

not all customers are profitable...fact.

If that person "customer" consumed more time and resources (pain in the ass) then I wouldn't consider them a customer but rather a problem...in that case I would recommend they go pester the competition and waste their time...

Sure you do. What sort have business have you run? I say no all the time, especially if that "dollar" means a potential loss or MASSIVE PAIN IN MY ASS down the road, simply not worth it, as my time and sanity is worth $$$$ as well...

Well that even depends. At what cost is the profit? So you sell X amount of units, but the purchaser becomes a royal pain in the ass, yes you have the money, but at what cost? Somewhere in there is a moral dilemna of money vs priciples... ;)

True to some extent. Like others have indicated, you need to find out WHY what was said and the context...

I would be outraged to discover that there was competition and precede to purchase all other business and monopolize, thus solving the problem. Oh, and I would fire him for the hell of it.

our products are sold on contract so its never a few units here and there. it is all or nothing and in great quantities.

i can put up with alot of BS for a million dollar contract.

well the simple fact is that a low level employee made a desicion for the company that the employee wasnt hired or qualified to make. reason enough for termination.
