When I think of what they did to Jesus, I cry...
This used to be no big deal, since we've all heard the story 1 million times.

But lately I've came to realize that when I consider certain verses or situations pertaining to Jesus, it brings me to tears.

I think even Lucifer wept when Jesus died, like in the movie passion of the christ.. I know it sounds bad but still.

Earlier I was talking on the phone with my girl, and she needed some key info on something. (how to handle a certain social situation). I told her she should already know because the solution was in a documentary we were watching (supposed to watch together), but she fell asleep quickly and missed the boat, as she was not interested in it at the time, and the film had a nasty palate anyway.

Then this verse came to me: Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures: "'The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes'?

So I remind her that sometimes we find our answers in the most seemingly unlikely of places, (in this case, the unlikely documentary).

..Born in a Manger.... KING of Kings, LORD of Lords.

Then there is this:

The letter from Pontius Pilate to Tiberius Caesar

This is a reprinting of a letter from Pontius Pilate to Tiberius Caesar describing the physical appearance of Jesus. Copies are in the Congressional Library in Washington, D.C.

TO TIBERIUS CAESAR:

A young man appeared in Galilee preaching with humble unction, a new law in the Name of the God that had sent Him. At first I was apprehensive that His design was to stir up the people against the Romans, but my fears were soon dispelled. Jesus of Nazareth spoke rather as a friend of the Romans than of the Jews. One day I observed in the midst of a group of people a young man who was leaning against a tree, calmly addressing the multitude. I was told it was Jesus. This I could easily have suspected so great was the difference between Him and those who were listening to Him. His golden colored hair and beard gave to his appearance a celestial aspect. He appeared to be about 30 years of age. Never have I seen a sweeter or more serene countenance. What a contrast between Him and His bearers with their black beards and tawny complexions! Unwilling to interrupt Him by my presence, I continued my walk but signified to my secretary to join the group and listen. Later, my secretary reported that never had he seen in the works of all the philosophers anything that compared to the teachings of Jesus. He told me that Jesus was neither seditious nor rebellious, so we extended to Him our protection. He was at liberty to act, to speak, to assemble and to address the people. This unlimited freedom provoked the Jews -- not the poor but the rich and powerful.

Later, I wrote to Jesus requesting an interview with Him at the Praetorium. He came. When the Nazarene made His appearance I was having my morning walk and as I faced Him my feet seemed fastened with an iron hand to the marble pavement and I trembled in every limb as a guilty culprit, though he was calm. For some time I stood admiring this extraordinary Man. There was nothing in Him that was repelling, nor in His character, yet I felt awed in His presence. I told Him that there was a magnetic simplicity about Him and His personality that elevated Him far above the philosophers and teachers of His day.

Now, Noble Sovereign, these are the facts concerning Jesus of Nazareth and I have taken the time to write you in detail concerning these matters. I say that such a man who could convert water into wine, change death into life, disease into health; calm the stormy seas, is not guilty of any criminal offense and as others have said, we must agree -- truly this is the Son of God.

Your most obedient servant,
Pontius Pilate

The sorrowful misteries are a great entry point into divine rapture. Contemplating Christ's sufferings can be a gateway to direct mystical experience.

What they did to JESUS? Dear, we all did it to JESUS. HE loved us enough to do it, to enable us to have life eternal with HIM. What love and grace.

jesus was a myth and no one did shit to him because someone who never existed cannot be persecuted, tortured or killed. there is absolute zero proof jesus ever existed; you were just brainwashed to believe this shit from an early age.

if you read the bible properly, multiple biblical passages condone rape, child sacrifice, murder, land invasions, slavery, etc, -- all in the name of god.

btw you weren't crying for jesus, you cried because you needed to release all of the guilt and anxiety religious fear mongering has caused you because... 'the lord is watching you! worship him or burn for eternity!!!'

pathetic.

I've never really had emotion spill out of me in the form of tears. That being said, recently I've been experiencing it first hand and semi often. It started a couple of weeks ago when I saw this picture.

anyone can write anything they want (like the bible) and frightened and gullible people will believe it. that letter was so in favour of promoting the existence of jesus, it was obvious this was the author's agenda.

Every now and then, to bring me back to reality, I read this... [link to www.evangelicaloutreach.org] I cry...

It's a physicians account about what Jesus physically endured...as to the emotional or spiritual side I don't believe any of us are capable of beginning to comprehend the weight of billions and billions of souls...we would be instantly crushed...

Recently, I had the sudden and random urge to rewatch the passion of the Christ by myself. When it got to the point where the romans took him to be beaten and they pulled out the cat of nine tails... I almost had to turn it off. But I did not. When i sit here and think about the reality that our LORD went through, for you, for me, for every single living person, past and present, well... It is almost impossible not to be brought to tears. For the longest time I had a disconnect with the Scriptures and how the related to our everyday life. But i no longer have that disconnect.
I think far too often we forget the pain and suffering HE endured for our sake. I can not even begin to imagine what those days must have been like.

Praise God for His deliverance, His mercy, and His willingness to sacrifice so that we might know him. I look forward to seeing you one day in the kingdom of heaven brother.

I'm glad you said this, because it is real and I can prove it to you - but only if you are willing to test it out for yourself.

If you are, answer that you are willing, and I will illustrate to you how you can know it is real.

EDIT: This goes out there for anybody else. If you are not sure of The LORD, feel free to reply here and I will share with you a way 100% that you can know without a doubt, The LORD, as I have received instruction from Him to bring people to Him.

Beautiful OP, It was so moving to see and really try to understand what JESUS took on our behalf. Like you, when the cat of nine tails started to tear HIS sink apart, I couldn't watch, all I could say was FATHER FORGIVE ME. Also being a Mother, Mary broke my heart, could you imagine seeing your child tortured like this. Broken heart, tears and still a grateful heart for HIS love.
