Sorry to see that buddy. I've been to S. Korea 3 times and like the people there. Have an Oscar for me, will ya? |

Quoting: Cat.Man.Deux That's about as smart as sending in a paintball squad to back up the Marines. Maybe we need to revisit that crater idea. Considering that their nuclear tests haven't exactly gone brilliantly (the phrase used is "fizzle"), I'm not sure they're doing too well on the nuke front. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18201204 This shortage is getting silly, I like driving. Collect all the fuel from everything in Oz, and then the Oz collective will have enough fuel to attempt its own homemade long-range missile, just like the people of N.K., are doing. I guess Oz could just ask N.K. for the fuel since they seem to have it. |

Treyfish (OP) User ID: 14756837 United States 12/07/2012 08:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | By Kim Young-jin North Korea was making preparations to begin fueling a long-range rocket Friday, ahead of a launch planned for as early as Monday, reports said Regional players began bracing for the move, with Washington deploying two Destroyers to the area to monitor the launch and Tokyo issuing an order to shoot down the rocket if it threatens its territory. Reports citing officials said Pyongyang was filling up a fuel tank at the northwestern Sohae Satellite Launching Station, military officials were quoted as saying, citing satellite imagery that showed increased activity near the tank "As soon as (the North) completes injecting fuel into the storage, and it is expected to supply the rocket with fuel," Yonhap News Agency quoted a source as saying. "Fuel injection could begin Saturday." Officials here believe the rocket has been erect since mid-week, but independent analysts raised the possibility that progression may be slower due to snowfall. The tank sits some 80 meters from the launch pad The North has said it will launch the rocket between Dec.10 and 22, claiming it is for scientific purposes. Treyfish (OP) User ID: 14756837 United States 12/07/2012 08:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | North Korea back on track to test rocket despite snow Published on Saturday 8 December 2012 00:00 A PLANNED rocket launch by North Korea, in defiance of United Nations’ resolutions, looks set to go ahead on Monday, despite snow delaying preparations this week. Satellite images presented online by US and South Korean analysts revealed that mid-week snow may have held up the launch, contradicting South Korean media reports citing unnamed officials in Seoul which claimed all three stages of the Unha rocket had been mounted on the launchpad by Wednesday. The UN fears the launch is a test for technology that could be used to target the US and South Korea with a ballistic missile. North Korea’s determination to test the rocket comes as both Japan and South Korea gear up for elections this month, and ahead of the US president Barack Obama’s inauguration next month for a second term. Pyongyang insists it has a right to pursue a peaceful space programme and will launch a satellite into orbit sometime between Monday and 22 December. It is thought the launch could be timed to coincide with the first anniversary on 17 December of the death of Kim Jong-il, father of leader Kim Jong-un. North Korea is also celebrating the centennial of Kim Jong-un’s grandfather, national founder Kim Il-sung. North Korea has a long h.. [link to www.scotsman.com] |

The source said Seoul has spotted increased activity of personnel and vehicles near the fuel storage area of the launch site. As soon as the North completes filling the storage tanks with fuel, he said, it is expected to supply the rocket with fuel. Fuel pipes that supply liquid fuel to the rocket are built in underground facilities, so detecting fuel injection with satellite imagery is difficult.
