My kids are the 5th generation to live here. There must be something nice about NC because all the yankees from NY, NJ, and FL want to move here. We have a joke about the town of Cary, that it's an acronym that means Containment Area for Relocated Yankees. Summers can be brutal though. Charlotte is slowly turning into your typical mid-size southern city, kinda like Atlanta of 30 years ago. ncrickglp |

The coin works on the other side as well. Please don't come here and talk about "how much better _______ was in Ohio." I don't care if you can't find a good pierogi in Greensboro or High Point!!! The yankees move here, an introduce the same type of northern lifestyle to the new area that they tried to escape from. The proliferation of HOAs and neighborhoods with covenants are testament to that fact. My best friend is from NJ, so please don't say I'm anti-yankee. But rather than try to change our culture to his, he embraced ours. He knows what grits are, and the differences in our eastern and western pork BBQ. He knows that the plural form of "Ya'll" is "All ya'll". Edit: Any while I'm thinking about it, folks from Ohio are the WORST to do this. I've met more people from Ohio who bitterly complain that NC is NOT Ohio, than I have from any other state, including NY and NJ. GTFO and don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya! I lived in Cary from 2008 to 2009 before I had to relocate to Virginia by my employer. I loved it there and would move back in a heartbeat if I could. So beautiful.
