Anyone else happy being single with no plans to have kids or get married?

I like having a partner personally...Someone to share with.

I have no issues spending long stretches of time alone but with a good match there is plenty of alone time if needed; while simultaneously having someone who cares whether you live or die. Feels nice to be loved.

I have a gf but not plans for marriage or kids.

Before you ask, I am not disgustingly fat, a bum, or otherwise undesirable. I'm just a normal guy who works a decent 9-5 like everyone else. I just don't see the point in starting a relationship because that is what is expected of me by society.

Was married for 10 yrs, no kids. Never felt a need nor entertained the thought of having any. Ever. Single and feeling free and clear. It is this society. Too much else going on to feel comfortable taking on that extra responsibility. Pretty happy now, but if we all went back to little house on the prairie simplicity, working the field and coming home, then I'd get me a woman and be bangin like a bunny to make some kids.

I was happily married for 28 years, but she died last summer. It's a bit of a shock, but I'm enjoying being single, for the most part.

I never wanted kids. I am far too selfish and knew that about myself, best decision I ever made. I would have been a terrible mother.

It is nice in doses, but a lifetime is a long time. That partnership and love has its merits, and leads to many amazing experiences that cannot be tapped otherwise.

I prefer a happy blend. Time alone (generally backpacking now that I am in a long term) and evenings together discussing the world and daily experience.
