Syria got 70 Yakhont missiles a year ago. Never tested in battle, they are designed for aircraft carrier groups. I am afraid that intervention without actual use of chemical weapons will result in a pretty big war, possibly world war. Let give peace a chance and wait for the end of the world first on Dec 21 :)

Assad isnt an idiot to do that unless the town is full of rebels. He tried to send in soldiers first and when the enemy presence is too high and the civilian population is low thats when he strikes. Assad isnt stupid he;s really educated and loved by many in his country. The west is against al qaeda yet they support them in Syria. Assad was the best secular non islamic leader in Syria. He is the only one who will protect minorities in Syria. Rest assured that if the rebels are victorious in Syria they wull try to install an islamic govt which will be bad for all the minorities. The same thing thats happening in Egypt now will happen in Syria if the rebels win as in the liberals and moderates will protest. Assad is the best choice for now if he does win this battle tho he should passs the reforms asap and have an open election but not allows radical movements in like the MB.
