My pick would be "Home Sweet Home" by Motley Crue
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1272717

The Parting Glass

O, all the money e'er I had,
I spent it in good company.
And all the harm that ever I've done,
alas it was to none but me.
And all I've done for want of wit
to mem'ry now I can't recall;
So fill to me the parting glass,
Good night and joy be with you all.

O, all the comrades e'er I had,
They're sorry for my going away.
And all the sweethearts e'er I had,
They'd wished me one more day to stay.
But since it falls unto my lot,
That I should rise and you should not,
I gently rise and softly call,
Goodnight and joy be with you all.

the parting glass, good pick :) i like Ronny Drew's version of this.

For me it would be "Bird on a Wire" by Leonard Cohen

Like a bird on the wire,
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free.
Like a worm on a hook,
Like a knight from some old fashioned book
I have saved all my ribbons for thee.
If I, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If I, if I have been untrue
I hope you know it was never to you.

That is a wonderful song.

Did you ever see the movie "A Wedding" by Robert Altman? The last scene uses Bird on a Wire as the younger characters sit around smoking a joint. Wonderful movie, great scene, sweet song.

One of the most lyrically profound songs that I'd choose to have at my funeral.

So beautiful this song is very special to me.
To the world I am just a number, but the Lamb of God He knows me by my name.
