This is why new nuclear plants should be built to replace the old ones. The new designs don't have this problem. Sadly, the government won't give the permits necessary for this to happen.

I've seen this in disaster scenarios before. One of the reasons why I'm glad I live in Oregon. Other then mini nuclear plant at Oregon state University, which is of the newer designs and used for research, there aren't any plants around me.
