I've been a near-daily meth user for over three years now
And I just realized, after stumbling upon a "meth cures flu" headline, that I haven't caught a cold during this whole time myself!

[link to www.huffingtonpost.com] (sorry if this was already posted not long ago)

Now before you bring out the "faces of meth" mugshots, I'd like to mention that I still have all my teeth/hair/nails (teeth are better than ever in fact thanks to brushing w/baking soda!) and I truly do believe there's something to the science behind this (important to note that the findings seem to show the drug actually inhibits the flu virus instead of just masking the symptoms once already infected like current OTC's). The intermittent fasting that comes from its appetite-supressing effect may also have some benefit to the body (granted you don't live in mountain dew and cheez-its).

BTW, I've just been eating my meth and have never thought of injecting or smoking it (I've done some lines on a handful of "special occasions", though...

Can anyone else relate to this somehow? (those of you with an Adderal/Vyvanse/Dex prescriptions, also)

Read about it, this is the best book I've read all week-see how much of Western Culture has been influenced by Amphetamines

Speed-Speed-Speedfreak

A Fast History of Amphetamine

Mick Farren

[link to feralhouse.com]

"Elvis Presley, the Hell’s Angels, Hunter S. Thompson, Truman Capote, the Beatles, Judy Garland, Hank Williams, Jack Kerouac, Johnny Cash, JFK, the Manson Family and Adolf Hitler. All of the above were, at one time or another, to put it bluntly, speedfreaks.

Speed-Speed-Speedfreak traces the criminal and cultural use of amphetamine and its growing use through each new and destructive cycle. Speed is both one of the biggest social problems facing the country today, an indispensible component of the doctor’s medicine bag, and a huge and abiding influence on artists, musicians and writers.

BTW, I was completely expecting the negative responses. Many people would likely never consider something so stigmatized isn't all just a bunch of cleaning products mixed together in the sink (maybe it is in southern US, though lol) Reefer madness, anyone??

By every once in awhile you mean 4-5 times a year? sure

Everyday is absolutely terrible for you. I say this because no one really know what pure clean meth does anyways.

Your stomach and whole lower abdomen must be fucked by now.

I take amphetamine, methamphetamine is overkill.

If there is 0 good that comes from it, then why is pure amphetamine and methamphetamine sold as ADD and ADHD and prescription weight loss pharmaceuticals to morbidly obese people? The western pharmaceutical empire along with western medicine is a crock, and a racket...so, dont spend any time pondering this point, instead consider:

Methamphetamine is not the most dangerous substance ever created, not even close. Dirty, improperly cooked meth is awful, but still not the most dangerous drug which is used to get high...

But, guess what is? Yep, that is right: alcohol.

Alcohol is the only drug which affects EVERY single bodily system in a negative manner.

Think about that!

You don't realize the damage to your brain but those who care about do. I am so close to going Kamakazee on those that deal it but I cling to my hope that this shit is done. I am not speaking of me but of a loved one, someone I love more than life itself. If this nightmare doesn't stop or ends up very badly there will be carnage. You have no idea what you are doing to those that love you. You are a selfish little shit that is going to end up a fucking retard and then you will want all those that you have shit upon to take care of you because your brain is so fucked up that you cannot function as a person.

Are you really comparing a natural plant to a harsh mind-altering chemical?!? No, the majority of great public speakers were not on ephedra, or meth for that matter. I was addicted to meth for a long, long time and I know the horrible place that you are in mentally, spiritually as well as physically. It is a sad and lonely drug that leads to the eventual abandonment of everything and everyone you once loved for the love of the substance. You can pretend to act like it is all fun and games, but I know how you are hurting and how you hate yourself for it, and hate the drug even more. I have been there. I am sure I would be dead or in prison if not for the grace of God and getting saved while on a meth-binge. I have never touched the stuff since then, and never will. I was in a hard cycle too, up for 3-5 days, down for at least 1. Only God can save you, pray that He does, cry out to Him, admit you are hopelessly lost, and He will rescue you. He knows what it will take for you to finally deny yourself and look to Him, and if you are one of His, He will do whatever it takes. I just hope for your sake that it doesn't take all of the tragedy and pain that I went through, in order for you to come to Him.

Re: I've been a near-daily meth user for over three years now
Yup. You can do these substances for a long time and look pretty good, if you are smart and know how to use... I have... :)

And I have known alcoholics, heroin addicts, meth heads, pcp (wet heads) etc who you wouldn't even know were high, let alone chronic...

but if you lose yourself in this stuff, which can happen to anyone, really bad things can happen... you might forget to drink water for a week--this will cause you to lose your mind--or you might black out or lose touch with reality... seen it happen to people...

you might harm someone else, even just psychologically...

these substances build ego and will eventually lead to self-destruction, both body, and worse, soul...

if you are honest with yourself, you probably already suspect that you have lost touch with the true profundity of life and substituted it with an artificial high that does a great job of simulating the wonder of life, but is far from the mark... deep down you know this, but you will keep hitting the meth to try to reach an equilibrium that you never can reach... unless you start to comprehend the incredible intelligence of the reality you are in and discover the Divine... and turn to God for guidance and understanding...

fundamentally, substances like these are a distraction from God and serving others... this, btw, is by design... you are making a choice to serve yourself over others and you will probably not find true love, you will not really appreciate one minute of your existence the way you truly desire... though it may feel better than the reality you had before meth came into your life... this is not necessarily because the meth is so good but that your life before was lacking and your search simply led you down the wrong path because it feels interesting and more wondrous than before...

consider that you may be being influenced by supernatural forces that do not have your best interests at heart... when you realize this and desire to be set free, the best way to be rid of these entities is to pray the lord's prayer and ask for them to be removed, in Jesus' name--it works... in fact, try praying for this and see if you do not start to cut back and even eliminate the desire to be high... if you want a fun experiment...

good luck! and don't forget to drink water...

:)

I've been working at a florist for the past two years and have had to arrange flowers for many caskets with a body resting in it. Death is a recurring subject, and the only sad thing I find about the process is the focus on making the deceased appear as graceful as possible when a full life should rightly leaves someone looking a bit "weathered" for it...
