Re: I've been a near-daily meth user for over three years now
I was addicted to opiates for three years, and during that last year used benzodiazapenes daily and methamphetamine about five days a week.

I can't remember getting a cold while using it. Then again, even if I had a cold I wouldn't have noticed. Meth dries up the sinuses/constricts blood vessels, the opiates would have taken care of any headache/joint pain, so...You may just not notice it bud.

Know what's funny though? Today at the methadone clinic I got a false positive on my drug test, positive for methamphetamine and I haven't touched the shit in two years. Second false positive I've gotten, the other was for coke and I've never in my life done coke.

Anyway, come down to Vegas and hook a brother up. If I'm gonna pop positive for no reason might as well have some fun haha.

And I just realized, after stumbling upon a "meth cures flu" headline, that I haven't caught a cold during this whole time myself!

[link to www.huffingtonpost.com] (sorry if this was already posted not long ago)

Now before you bring out the "faces of meth" mugshots, I'd like to mention that I still have all my teeth/hair/nails (teeth are better than ever in fact thanks to brushing w/baking soda!) and I truly do believe there's something to the science behind this (important to note that the findings seem to show the drug actually inhibits the flu virus instead of just masking the symptoms once already infected like current OTC's). The intermittent fasting that comes from its appetite-supressing effect may also have some benefit to the body (granted you don't live in mountain dew and cheez-its).

BTW, I've just been eating my meth and have never thought of injecting or smoking it (I've done some lines on a handful of "special occasions", though...

Can anyone else relate to this somehow? (those of you with an Adderal/Vyvanse/Dex prescriptions, also)

That happens to be a big part of why I first considered using it frequently. I've had stuffy/runny nose issues since childhood (undefined allergies of sorts prolly) and noticed that I wouldn't sniffle when breathing through my nose while sped-up. Didn't need to keep my pockets stuffed with tissues, either.

and don't forget to drink water...

To work extra shifts with a small-time cleaning crew (a local river went over its banks and flooded a small nearby village, to be exact). We ended up with the better share of hired jobs out of the handful of contractors working the area, considering we were just five guys ;p

This kind of thing is what ruined my marriage and has ruined my ex's life. He started out doing loritabs to help him not feel pain while working long shifts. He was worked every single day. Then he was working from 8 in the morning up until midnight single day. I couldn't believe it, come to find out he was doing loritabs and oxycotins. It got to the point to where he was never coming home and I couldn't trust him with our children. I left him 6 years ago and I have no idea what he is doing these days. He has children with me and other children and he doesn't see any of them. All he cares about is making money, sleeping around, staying high. What is sad is that he doesn't even realize he is ruined his life.

Re: I've been a near-daily meth user for over three years now
Personally addicted to painkillers (cocodamol/codeine). i could quit, but it's not just the addiction. I remember how awful I felt before I started (for years). It's either feel good (buzz) for a while and then crappy for the comedown, or back to how it was crappy most of the time. i don't think I could ever go back to that. i remember the first time I took them. The pain physical/mental/emotional just lifted under a warm, loving embrace, letting me relax. How can I let that go, and go back to the cold sharp never-ending pain...? I'd have one good day OCCASIONALLY which were getting fewer and fewer. What's worst, is they're losing their effectiveness. I dread the day they stop working and all I have is the cold for warmth.

Re: I've been a near-daily meth user for over three years now
I have to admit that I have casually used meth in the past. I liked to put it in my coffee. Talking about a wake-up! I used it a couple times a week as an aid to get things done. I too, have a job, pay rent, car payment, insurance, all utilities and never missed a payment. I had a hip replacement last year and in order to qualify all your dental work has to be done. My teeth are fine but I did lose one to decay many years ago (before I started meth).

I was only able to do it for about 2 years before I started to get paranoia. I noticed the paranoia one day and knew it was the drug. So I stopped for a month. Tried again in my coffee. Boom! Paranoid within an hour. So I suffered through that day and waited 90 days. Tried again. BOOM! Paranoid! SO I waited 6 months. Tried again. B O O M !! Paranoid for the last fricking time. I HATE that. SO, I have put it on the list of drugs that I won't do. I CHOOSE not to use the drug because I CANNOT CONTROL IT anymore. I've got a couple more on that list but thankfully I was not born with that addiction gene. I can rationally choose to use a drug, and decide to set it aside. No kidding.

I loved meth. It was a lot cheaper than powder cocaine, and it's a lot more fun to have a bit-o pick-up-and-go when it's time to bang out the housework or gardening. I hated crack, who wants to be high for 10 minutes and have an uncontrollable desire for another hit?

So OP, there ya go, you're not alone...

The rest of you that are going to flame me, BITE ME. Just because you can't control your drug use don't take it out on me.

Gee... I'd rather get the flu occasionally, rather than become a meth addict.

But I don't get the flu, and haven't gotten it in a dozen years. Ever since I've been making and taking Colloidal Silver.

Meth is for total idiots.

Lady, there's a big fucking difference between hydrocodone/opioids and amphetamine analogues. Loritabs might as well be sleeping pills if compared to meth. He must have really needed them if he was a workaholic as you mention. There's a pretty good reason why meth is known as "speed", it's a stimulant (caffeine x 1000+prozac), not an analgesic. And for the record, NOT ALL DRUGS ARE "NARCOTICS", people. Compare smoking a cig to drinking a beer; apples and oranges...

It's actually a compound and no it's not the most poisonous substance ever created.

Sure it can be addictive but so can cigarettes and alcohol, which oddly enough are not illegal. Funny that.

And for the record (I posted just above this), I am a 55 year old female. I have not done meth now for about 6 years. The tooth I lost about 15 years ago is a molar, and I have a gorgeous smile, always have. My hair is past my ass on the way to my knees. My nails are fine. I certainly don't look like any of those meth before and after photos.

I used the drug, the drug didn't use me.

From the old swine flu thread I bumped earlier:

This is how meth is usually sold as in Canada. Usually neat-pressed, no traces of drano or pieces of scouring spunge [or hillbilly juices] dirtying it up lol:

By every once in awhile you mean 4-5 times a year? sure

Everyday is absolutely terrible for you. I say this because no one really know what pure clean meth does anyways.

Your stomach and whole lower abdomen must be fucked by now.

I take amphetamine, methamphetamine is overkill.

Slow down. For us.

But at least your not shooting heroin.
