Dec 8th, still no doom... what gives?

Is all hell supposed to break loose on exactly the Dec 21th, or a week before or after?
3 years ago i was excited but now that we're so close and nothing happens, i kinda stopped giving a damn.
I hope the pentagon "aliens" give us free energy and instant communication so i can improve my internet speeds, coz they suck in Canada. I wanna be able to download terabytes of warez in a minute for free.
If nothing happens, that would suck, just another boring day in my dark and lonely basement...
