I know a few and they seem so empty and hollow. You live and you die, what's the point etc etc. So sad for them but hard to feel sorry for them.

In them condemning Christians, they are acting exactly like the the idea they have of Christians condemning others. You seem pretty confident speaking for an entire group of people. Who's to say they hate so much? I'm sure there are some that do, but all? It sounds like you are making a pretty big generalization, a bad one at that. By the way, I thought a christian/religious person started this thread and was condemning atheists... Am I still in the same thread? Just look at the comments from Athiests to Christians throughout GLP, not even subtle in the hate. You bunch Christian/religious together as if they are the same. They aren't the same at all.
