After Mindanao (southern Philippines), now it is heading for Luzon (northern Philippines).

We have been feeling cool gusts here in Manila. Manila will be fine, I just hope I can say the same for the provinces up north. The houses there are made up of light materials just like the ones that has been devastated in the south.

This is really one strong typhoon.

Jesus, so what, it's making a 360 and hitting the same spot again? That's unheard of.

I saw the forecast a couple days ago and saw it headed straight to China - no indication then it would take such a sharp recurve.

I guess that most of the search, rescue and emergency services are at the bottom of the country, which is going to be awful for those in the North of Luzon when they get hit later today!

Thank you for posting OP! We are in the middle of putting relief packages together for our countrymen in the south and now Pablo is making a Uturn due to hit our brothers in the north! It dumbfounds me. I hope Pablo changes course or weakens because it's hard enough to handle 1 disaster, plus many people are still recovering from the floods earlier this year. Please keep us in your well wishes and prayers? Last year we had a typhoon that refused to leave our country, now we have 1 that made a Uturn!

And I bet we will have a naval ship full of supplies, generators, temporary housing there within 24 hours, unlike in NJ and NY. I wish we treated ourselves like we do other countries and their inhabitants.

That's what I felt about "No longer called Hurricane Sandy". It was just so freaking big, and so well predicted.

At least where I live in NJ (which took a very direct hit), we didn't wait for the government to help. We helped each other, and continue to do so.
