Gangnam Style refers to the behaviour of Koreans in the Gangdam district in Seoul where they over-spend to look wealthy, however the wealth is not as fabulous as it seems. The Atlantic times provides deep social insights into the meaning of Gangnam Style:

Gangnam is a wealthy neighborhood in the South Korean city of Seoul where young people go to party. In the song, Psy describes the kind of guy he is and the kind of girl he wants, painting caricatures of the ostentatious culture of people who hang out in Gangnam.

As for the recent articles that people have been telling people for months its a massive mistake.

When I was first started to shed my public high school "education" (brainwashing) I read Chalmers Johnson's books and was shocked to learn about some of the terrible behavior of USA troops across Asia. That being said, I've heard quite a few interesting stories about South Korea and it's pretty ridiculous in its own way. I'm sure South Korea's military would do the same to us if they could get away with it, as well as many other places in Asia where people hate the USA. Just pull our troops out of East, West, and Central Asia and let them deal with their own problems. Europe too, for that matter.

I only care what South Korean women think about me, not some chubby male pop star.
