Russian guy User ID: 24071670 Bulgaria 12/08/2012 08:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I think those chem weapons are going to become much more dangerous to the region because reports are saying Russia delivered Iskander missiles to Syria ! Quoting: subzero86 Does anyone know if those things can be equipped with chemical warheads...cos if that's the case TSHTF in the middle east ! Every inch of Israel is within range of those things and even if Assad doesn't arm them with chemical warheads, they still can deliver 1,500-pound payload which would be devastating to Israeli cities ! This is a real game changer and a major escalation IMHO ! One whiff of a chemical attack on Israel = nuclear retaliation. The big questio is whether Russia will get involved after Israel nukes Damascus. IMO this is a WW# scenario. Moreover, Pravda quoted Putin in August of already installed Cuban missiles named Oak. There is no alternative to the negotiated solution! I don't want to develop dark scenarios, but everything is possible if no agreement is reached - let say within the doomsday 2012 |

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to reveal the meeting's outcome, says the move is similar to last month's conference in Qatar that unified political groups. He says the meetings in the Turkish resort of Antalya began on Dec. 5 and are being attended by more than 550 rebel commanders and representatives. The official said Saturday that Brig. Gen. Salim Idriss was named as the group's chief of staff. [link to blogs.aljazeera.com] |

With all due respect Doorbert, we're being lied to repeatedly about the middle east. I for one don't need a sickly nation to confirm the fucking lies. That said I appreciate most of your research but frankly the majority of it is based solely on fear. |

Newshunter User ID: 22884594 United States 12/08/2012 09:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Report: Syrian Army seals off Damascus following attacks on the capital Syrian government troops on Saturday closed all roads leading to the capital, Damascus, after opposition rebels attacked checkpoints in various parts of the city, activists said. "Around 13 army checkpoints were attacked at the entrances of the capital, Damascus. This prompted the government troops to close areas, especially those leading to the eastern, western and southern suburbs of the capital," Haytham Abdullah, a Syrian activist based in Damascus, told dpa. He added that government troops were mounting a wide-scale crackdown eight kilometers from Damascus. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that four rebels had killed in clashes near government offices located between the towns of Harasta and Irbin north east of Damascus. Syrian state television reported that the army had "destroyed a number of vehicles and motorcycles used by terrorists" in Harasta and Daraya, key pro-rebel areas near Damascus. Rebels are at pains to seize Damascus airport and a main road leading to it in an attempt to cut supply lines to government troops, say activists. Both sides have been fighting near the facility for more than a week. [link to www.haaretz.com] |
