Awesome OP! Really wild what we mere humans on a budget can do! What sort of camera and lens did you use?

I caught them too, to my own amazement, in this video [Nikon D7000 with a Sigma Lens 50/500, wide angle even!] (working on another this weekend with much more footage) -

I have a nikon coolpix L120, no extra lens. Got it on night landscape mode, optical zoom is 21x. Not sure on the real technical aspects of it! 25-525mm and 14.1 megapixels.

Furthermore Jupiter is usually the fourth brightest object in the sky (after the Sun, the Moon and Venus).

That could just be a fly on the lens. Or a moth, maybe.

Have you tried cleaning it with a damp cloth?

No i'm quite stupid and dont clean my camera each time before i use it! But no on a serious note I took a few of them, on a tripod so I could control the area around it with no hiccups.

It,s made through a telescope (10" SC) - Camera is a Canon 550D.
30 sec video - split into single frames - taken the best 50 and stacked.

Could be better, but I live in the middle of the city with heavy air turbulences (very bad seeing).
