Subject Kids with Cancer, question?
Poster Handle Anonymous Coward

Through social media and YouTube I always see bald kids going through chemo, having cancer or beating cancer my question is how do you even know if your kid has cancer??

I have kids but when I take them in for a checkup, they don't "test" for cancer or aids or other diseases.

I even know a kid with cancer and they seem perfectly healthy from the outside (until they do chemotherapy) but before that while they "had cancer" you could never tell any difference between my kids or them. They are just as rambunctious as any other kid until they get the chemo.

We've asked her parents how they found out they had cancer and are always answered "well blood test showed this or that bla bla bla"

If I order bloodwork done for my kids, the doctor tells me "there is no test for cancer in doing bloodwork"

Point being, what if ALL kids have cancer? Who really knows? There are no real symptoms. With adults, we tend to point to aggravated physical pain or abnormalities which can lead to a biopsy, etc.

Kids don't ever tell you, "mom, my joints hurt so bad"...etc.

So, how do we know?
