There is LIFE in the Blood
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood...for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul" Leviticus 17:11

We ARE fearfully and wonderfully made!

As I was studying scripture, this verse, "for the life of the flesh is in the blood", stood out more than others.

Not only did I want to know more about it's meaning, but it sparked my curiosity to learn more about this life-sustaining fluid that runs through our veins.

What I've been reading is fascinating!

Like the fact, in just one to two minutes, in the average human being, blood circulates throughout your whole body.

The heart's pumping action squeezes blood out of the heart, and the pressure it generates forces the blood through the blood vessels.

Our blood is on a 60,000-mile journey.

If all the arteries, capillaries, and veins from each person were to be connected end to end, there would be over sixty-thousand miles of blood vessels--enough to go around the world two and a half times!

Our blood is composed of red and white blood cells.

[link to www.youtube.com]

Red blood cells are called erythrocytes.

They are responsible for the characteristic color of our blood.

Red blood cells start as immature cells in the bone marrow and after approximately seven days of maturation are released into the bloodstream.

The essential component of red blood cells is hemoglobin, which can hold oxygen so the cells can then transport around the body.

White blood cells are leukocytes.

They protect the body from infection.

Here you will see a real White Blood Cell chasing bacteria--the process is sped up in this video:

[link to www.youtube.com]

In every cubic millimeter of blood— a speck the size of a pinhead —there are approximately 5 million red blood cells; there are only 3,000 - 7,000 white blood cells in the same amount of blood.

Red blood cells have an average lifespan of 120 days, while white cells live a maximum of four days.

Blood is the body's major transport system, carrying vital substances to all the tissues and removing their waste products.

Normally, 7-8% of human body weight is from blood.

An average-sized man has about 12 pints of blood in his body, and an average-sized woman has about 9 pints.

The body manufactures almost 2,000,000 new cells every second to replenish those cells that have fulfilled their life function.

I don't know if that impresses you, but it impresses me!
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

"This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him;
and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7

I know the color of blood can be different.

From what I've read so far, not all forms of life have red blood.

Crabs and lobsters have blue blood, and leeches and earthworms have green blood.

What do you think?

Re: There is LIFE in the Blood
The female egg, or ovum, from which all human beings develop, cannot produce life without its union with a male cell,
or sperm...which means that it is only after the introduction of the father's cell that life can begin to develop.

The father, therefore, adds the principle of life and,
since the Bible clearly states that the life is the blood, it follows that the BLOOD principle is the
father's contribution to the new life.

However...which this blood principle is produced by the
union of a single mother cell and a single father cell, no actual blood cells themselves are
transmitted to the growing, unborn infant. Despite that fact that...by means of diffusion...the
mother furnishes the child with all its substances, no actual cells ever pass from one to the other.

Hence, all the blood...as well as blood type and Rh factors ...is formed within the body proper of
the infant without receiving any actual blood tissue from the mother.

My primary interest in the topic of blood was to study more about the Blood of Christ.

Was it different?

He was conceived differently.

His life was without sin.

How does this tie in with the numerous blood verses in the Bible?

I never took an interest in the formation of the infant in the womb, thus, I was not aware that, "under normal conditions,
not a single blood cell ever passes from the circulation of the mother to the developing unborn infant which means
that all of a baby's blood... every cell of it...is manufactured within the baby itself, without the contribution of a single cell by its mother."

great stuff OP

Here are a few things to ponder

In the previous chapter in Lev the atonement statute is given.

Statutes are enactments of future events (prophecies)

While there is some typology with regard to the future atonement of Christ, contained in the statute, the two goats that are without blemish represent the two prophets (two witnesses) that give the last testimony in the end times.

These two servants and some of their associates offer up an atonement for latter day Israel just as Moses and Aaron and Joshua offered up an atonement offering for ancient Israel.

Moses and Aaron had to die while Joshua lived on.

In the atonement statute we learn that one of the two goats without blemish had offer himself as a blood offering while the other one became the scapegoat.

Blood is required as an offering because of its qualities and the life that is contained in it.

Blood has intelligence which is why it can cry to the Lord from the dust when someone is martyred, etc. etc.

Re: There is LIFE in the Blood
“The Bible is a bloody book. If you cut it with a knife, it will bleed.” --Adrian Rogers

Well, there is no doubt about that.

The word "blood" is in the King James Version of the Bible 447 times.

Scripture speaks about the blood of animals, which were sacrificed to temporarily cover the sins of the people in the Old Testament.
It was also a foreshadow of the coming Messiah who would offer the perfect Sacrifice of Himself to God the Father.

We read in Hebrews 9:12 concerning Jesus, "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us."

Jesus' literal, physical blood didn't atone for our sins; but rather, took them away forever!

The Life is in the Blood.

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword."
Hebrews 4:12

The word translated "quick" in this verse is "LIVING" or "ALIVE."

God's Word has Life in it--the story of Life-- it is able to impart life to those who will believe with their hearts what it teaches.

Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life"

The truth is, apart from the blood of Christ, you and I cannot have a relationship with our heavenly Father.

The only atonement is divine blood, or sinless blood.

There is nothing that will change the sin nature that is in our flesh.

Only the sinless blood of Jesus Christ can and will regenerate the soul of sinful man.

There is Life in the Blood of Jesus.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task

In case there are any believing Mormons viewing this post, the above statement is very significant.

Look at John 1:13 in the inspired version of the Bible, it reads "He was not born of blood.." instead of "Which were born, not of blood..."

In other words, unlike all mortal men who inherit the ability to manufacture blood from the mortal father, Christ did not inherit the ability to manufacture mortal blood from a mortal father because he did not have a mortal father.

His blood was the blood of the Gods. He had perfect immortal blood.

This is why the Book of Mormon informs us that a mortal man's mortal blood does not have the power to provide an eternal atonement for other men.

"8 And now, behold, I will testify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of his people, and that he shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
9 For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made, or else all mankind must unavoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and are lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which it is expedient should be made.
10 For it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice; yea, not a sacrifice of man, neither of beast, neither of any manner of fowl; for it shall not be a human sacrifice; but it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice.
11 Now there is not any man that can sacrifice his own blood which will atone for the sins of another."

NOT A SACRIFICE OF MAN...SHALL NOT BE A HUMAN SACRIFICE....THERE IS NOT ANY MAN THAT CAN SACRIFICE HIS OWN BLOOD WITH WILL ATONE FOR THE SINS OF ANOTHER

It was a GOD that condescended and allowed himself to be crucified, not a mortal, human man.

Re: There is LIFE in the Blood
The Lord Jesus Christ is your one and only hope of salvation before God and in the last judgment day.

Here are a few New Testament verses about how blood works for Christians:

• We were bought with the blood (Acts 20:28).

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers,
to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.

• We are forgiven through faith in the blood (Ro 3.25)

Whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past,
through the forbearance of God;

• We are justified by the blood (Ro 5:9).

Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

* We have redemption through his blood (Eph. 1.7)

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace

* Peace was made through his blood (Eph 2.12-13)

remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.

* We are cleansed by the blood (Heb 9.14)

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God,
cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!

* We are made holy through his blood (Heb 13. 11-12)

The high priest carries the blood of animals into the Most Holy Place as a sin offering, but the bodies are burned outside the camp.

And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood

* We are purified from all sin through his blood (1 Jn. 1.7
)
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

* We have overcome Satan through His blood (Rev 12.11)

They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task
the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24

"This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him;
and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.
I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7

Re: There is LIFE in the Blood
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned;
even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”
(Romans 5:19-21)

So, because of one man's disobedience to His Creator, sin entered into the world

and our Creator God warned him that death would come as a result of that disobedient choice.

ALL have sinned and death will eventually come to each one of us.

In an earlier post the question was posed, "when does an embryo first have blood?".

But my question is--at what time in my life did I become a sinner?

Am I born with sin? Is it in my flesh, my blood, by natural body?

How is it within me?

There is no possible way that anyone can live and not sin--except for Jesus.

And it seems like the harder I try to do what is right, the more I find myself doing what is wrong.

Why?

it is your blood.

christ washed himself of the blood of his generation...meaning that he no longer had the same blood.

he bled from every pore! Am i the only one that has pondered this?

when christ returns we shall also be cleansed of the carnal blood...

that will be a good day

Well, I've been pondering many things these past few weeks.

The sin nature came about when Adam sinned--so did genetic changes occur in Genesis 3?

Also, Satan does not have a human nature, yet he, and demons, sin. So this would mean that the sin nature is not confined to human DNA, right?

here is my take:

the fall was a change in the blood. it became iron based. this caused humans to have a dual mind due to the iron creating negative emotions. It is negative emotions that enable man to 'sin' by PROMOTING IT constantly.

Christ drank the 'bitter cup' and bled from every pore.

the day will come when we are purified and will then think and act as Christ due to the elimination of 'insanity' or uncleanliness

Koffee,

no doubt the architect of this is brilliant.

I believe that Christ made even the architect of this to shudder.

Christ came to deliver us from this 'place'.
