sex is easy to get. i have younger guys hitting on me all the time. older guys, guys the same age.....yes, it has decreased a bit since i was in my prime 20 years ago, but not by that much.
i have had 2 long term relationships. and now find myself single. i could have fwb relationships with 4 men that i know of right now, if i only wanted sex.
but i don't. i want a relationship. and that is harder to get.
this is how i understand how things work:
men want sex, and find that hard to get.
women want relationships and find that hard to get.
if women only wanted sex,it would be super easy to get.
if men wanted a relationship, it would be easier to get than just sex.

The problem is, I don't know many girls. I'm not in school and it's not like there are any girls at my job.

It is kind of daunting because the man is expected to approach the girl, but in today's society, it seems like if there isn't something in it for the girl, and I'm not meaning sex or good looks I mean I feel like I can handle that part, just most seem to look for someone who has the money or some other reason. Someone young (20) who isn't too well established, not in school, staying with a friend, isn't obviously going to have as much to offer material wise as the guy who has the apartment, nice car, 3 years older. Etc etc.
It just really seems like women get to pick and choose who they want, because they are in demand and the men are the ones who have to search out the girl it seems.

And also you said your situation is not stable so having a gf right now would probably bring you more problems than benefits.
