The earth orbits around the sun. This 26000 year event has to do with 1.), as the spin is "loose" in the sense that the imaginary "spindle" the earth is rotating around is itself in a circular motion (one analogy is a the movement of a gyroscope as it is about to lose it's balance and then regaining it). And it is this circular motion of the imaginary spindle that is now approaching one whole revolution around. |
