Significant/Interesting Date Corrolations Quoting: Goofy for God If you take the number of days between the last orbital crossing of 4179 Toutatis and the next one which will occur in 2008, it amounts to 1502 or 1503 days +/- 12 hours. If you calculate the next time it will pass Earth's orbit based on that number of days alone (obviously not 100% accurate but close), you end up with a date of ~ December 21, 2012 +/- 12 hours. Two of the three most likely end dates of the "Long Count" for the Mayan calendar are December 21, 2012 and December 23, 2012 according to this website [link to webexhibits.org] Wow. |

Here are a few shadowy images of the asteroid illuminated by NASA's Goldstone radar in the Mojave Quoting: Goofy for God [link to www.spaceweather.com] Toutatis passes every 4 years. Last time in 2008 was a very close shave. This pass is Meh!. The only interesting thing about Toutatis, IMHO, are the seemingly accurate prophecies about it made by Billy Meier. Edit to add: Those prophecies were made in the 60's, when Toutatis had not been discovered. Meier predicted the discovery of Toutatis in the 80's (was right even to the year of teh discovery, can't remember if it was 1983 or 1987), and the name it would be given. He also was right that it would threathen the Earth in 2008. Last Edited by Red Hot Chilean Pepe on 12/08/2012 03:15 PM All great truths begin as Blasphemies. G.B.S. Some of this doesn't make sense. Below is the orbital diagram (which I got from the spaceweather.com page by clicking on the asteroid in question in their Near earth objects chart) and it seems to be very close to earth, chasing it, so to speak, until way out into the spring of 2013, yet they report on spaceweather.com it will be pinging the radar only until the 22 of December. Also, in the chart of NEO it is listed as 2.5km but in the text below the radar images they report it is 5km long, that's a pretty big difference. Also, does anyone remembering seeing this PHA in that chart before? Not that I memorize the thing, but this asteroid has a catchy enough name that I thought I would have noticed it. EDIT: Skip this, I was looking at DA14 on the chart, not Toutatis Last Edited by Isis One on 12/08/2012 07:49 PM Spread the word, change the collective conscious...... Toutatis won't be visible to the naked eye, but binoculars should suffice for spotting it in the night sky. A telescope would provide the best viewing, because it would allow the viewer to detect the slow motion of Toutatis against the background stars. The space rock, named Toutatis, will not hit Earth, despite rumors of possible doom that have circulated the Internet for months. Humanity is very fortunate there won't be an impact, as the asteroid is large enough to cause global devastation. Toutatis is about 2.9 miles long and 1.5 miles wide (4.6 by 2.4 kilometers). ---- |

There was NO "asteroid strike" in 1908 ! The 'asteroid was OBSERVED by 100s to make a NINETY DEGREE TURN, wabble, then explode. Those who were watching it were BLINDED, like Hiroshima victims who watched that fireball, and MANY thousands suffered from RADIATION POISONING, till their deaths. As that particular symptom was still unknown, it was NOT recognized as from a nuclear explosion ! COME ON, believers in BOOK FANTSY they have read, written by those who ONLY knew how to write, NOT THINK, EXAMINE the REPORTED FACTS of the EYE WITNESSES, not made up fairy tales YOU BELIEVE, LOL ! Just thought I would throw this in Quoting: Goofy for God 7 Asteroid Movies That Almost Destroyed The Earth [link to www.screenjunkies.com] hi, not trying to be funny but this stuck on my mind since yesterday: I was watching some tv when i noticed there was a movie on Comet Impact (2007) Alternatieve titel: Futureshock: Comet Storyline Astronomer Neil Gant fails to predict a comet hitting Ireland with disastrous consequences. However fear for a repeat gets his sky-watch program more NASA-resources. This time an approaching series of comets is detected in time, but only to calculate they're too large and fast to be eliminated. The target area, around Pennsylvania, is determined and hastily evacuated in a race against apocalyptic time. it started at 00:45..but now the strange thing on MGM there was another movie on, also lasted untill 2:55 like Futureshock, this one was: Asteroid (1997) With the discovery of an incoming asteroid, the government of America formulate a plan to destroy it. When the plan fails, all the world can do is wait. The main impact zone is revealed to be Dallas, Texas. Generally, the plot follows the lives and reactions of several characters: an astronomer, her father, her son, two firefighters from Kansas City, two young doctors in Dallas and the heads of the government agency in charge of the situation. after i watched these, this strange feeling came creeping up on me, i wanted to post a thread on this but seeying so many comet/fireball threads i'd leave it here, to me it basicly said usa is gonna get hit, maybe i'm thinking too far on this but yea. |
