You've already seen it in infrared; the HI CCD's are sensitive to infrared light and are not filtered against it. The anti-reflectivity coating does not work as well in the infrared range, but the CCD still registers the light anyway.

My video shows exactly how much space it covers over the course of weeks, in 3 dimensions. It's covering exactly the space it should cover under the influence of the sun. It's got a fairly long orbital period (many decades) and has a perihelion point between the orbits of earth and Venus, so yes, it will be traveling much faster than earth at perihelion.

Can you tell us the size of what we're looking at, it's true path in your estimation and its estimated time of arrival...and anything else you think I need to know about this object.

Hmm, not sure why you can't hear it clearly. I'll try to boost the microphone more next time. It is very hard to see the comet because it's fairly faint and very small. The size is impossible to accurately measure using HI2; the optical distortions of this very widefield camera bloat the stars so you're not able to get a good, small point spread function and each pixel corresponds to about 254 arcseconds anyway. It's a fairly small comet at the moment, and it won't be until mid-january that northern hemisphere observers will get a good view of it away from the sun. It's not going to get close to us, so I'm not sure I would call it an "arrival" so much as an appearance by it in the night sky.
