OP sounds like an agent. All these types of posts sound the same.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29096310

of course the alphabet soup co is on this forum. and I learned the meaning of the word 'troll' when I started reading these threads for what I think is some of the most up to date world news available.
so the mirror is back on you AC: did you know that the word
'satan' means 'accuser of the brethren?'

I have learned the hard way to be watchful of the seeds of doubt being sown. I stand back and watch for the fruits.
-----------------
a discourse on the fruits of the flesh and the fruits of the spirit:

15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another

Re: For the first time ever, I am truly afraid
OP - I am a mother too - of 3 young boys (ages 9, 5 and 1), and I am scared too. I too have gone through some crappy stuff in life, and forced myself to stay strong for my kids' sake, but this time, this fear - its different, and I cant really put my finger on it. I think what worries me the most is my kids - that they'll be ok, both in the near future and beyond.

I dont really have any "advice" except to try and take things one day at a time and enjoy each day. I make sure to say I love you and kiss my boys every night, and often throughout the day.

Thank you for the pin.

Thank you to everyone that has replied. There are some extraordinary responses. I haven't made it through all of them. I had no idea I would receive such support.

One thing I do want to point out. I am in no way narcissistic or seeking attention. I apologize if I came across that way. They aren't good qualities to have. I guess I just wanted to express what I am feeling at this moment. Based on the responses, I appear not to be the only one that is apprehensive.

Thank you all again!

Re: For the first time ever, I am truly afraid
Encouraging and comforting verses for troubling times.

Isaiah 41:10 "Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

Matthew 6:25-33“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

Nahum 1:7 "Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble: He knows those who take refuge in Him"

Psalm 55:22 "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and He will sustain you: He will never permit the righteous to be moved."

Isaiah 40:28-31 "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God (Yahweh), the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint; and to him who has no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall; but those who wait for Yahweh shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint ."

John 16:33 "I have told you these things so that you would find comfort in Me. In this world, you will suffer; but be courageous, for I have overcome the world!"

Revelation 21:1-4 "And I saw new heavens and a new earth, for the first ones had passed away; and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, that is, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And then I heard a great voice from heaven, which said, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them, and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither will there be any more pain, for the former things have passed away."

Deuteronomy 31:6 "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 "So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

Isaiah 46:4 "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."

:footrfootp:

Have a beautiful day!

Deuteronomy 31:8 "It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

Psalm 23:4 "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

Psalm 55:22 "Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."

John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

John 16:33 "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Romans 8:6 "For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace."

Philippians 4:6-7 "do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Colossians 3:15 "And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful."
 Quoting: Lisa*Lisa

I'm not a big jfk fan but what he said rings true:

"There's nothing to fear except fear itself."

Fear is the enemy. It is what causes us to make poor choices.... like a little squirrel that can't decided which way to run!

God has taken you this far. Keep trusting in Him [through faith in Jesus].

Yes....sometimes it's good to talk about our feelings. Whatever happens...it will be okay. Just have lanterns and food in the house and be prepared.

Everyone's talking about something different....3 days of darkness, etc. Who knows?

We live in interesting times. Then again...perhaps we always did but never had GLP and the internet....

Re: For the first time ever, I am truly afraid
I don't know if anyone has watched Cloud Atlas but we did last night. The theme of various lives (reincarnation) of 6 different life times was played out from the 1700s way into the future. There were a few elements I didn't like (sex and violence) but the most disturbing element was how people were so caught up in the ideology that resources are limited that the only way to deal with need was much the same as in the 1973 movie Soylent Green - only in Cloud Atlas clones are used as slaves and then as food being told they were chosen for Ascension rather then the dinner table.

I find this deeply disturbing because the whole food situation could be resolved with back yard or balcony aquaponic gardens where nutritious fresh food and fish are easily available.

12/21/12 reminds me of preparing for Y2K where nothing happened. We just don't know what's around the corner and even if one is prepared - how many folks in Sandy's path were prepared to have it all destroyed by flooding and wind. I figure I've done my best and the rest is in god's hands. God has a plan which may be a whole lot better then anything any one individual can come up with. It's a mystery. We just have to wait and see how it plays out.

Anyone who isn't worried has no idea of where we are in the stream of time;
"Also, there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth anguish of nations, not knowing the way out because of the roaring of the sea and [its] agitation, 26 while men become faint out of fear and expectation of the things coming upon the inhabited earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 But as these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift YOUR heads up, because YOUR deliverance is getting near.” Lk21:25

Do not fear :) The only thing I could say to you is that I too have lived a very turbulent life in my short time of living in this life so far. But having made peace with everything, I fear nothing anymore. If I am to die, then I know I will pass peacefully into the next journey for my soul.

Best thing to do is put your thoughts and emotions to more positive things, like being with people love and doing the things you love. This is what I am doing and honestly, no matter how daunting the situation may seem, it will not phase me.
"People live their lives bound by what they accept as correct and true. That's how they define "reality". But what does it mean to be "correct" or "true"? Merely vague concepts ... their "reality" may all be a mirage. Can we consider them to simply be living in their own world, shaped by their beliefs?"

You are all truly wonderful people. So many kind responses.

To the person that asked if I am concerned that I haven't done enough. Yes. I think that is the root of all of my worry.

I need to do more and if nothing happens, I need to remember how I have felt prior to this and do something about it.

It will be a second chance. Blessings to all of you.

Nothing to worry about! If you did all you could at the time, knowing what you knew, and know more now than you did then, how could that NOT be enough? The whole thing is about learning, and it sure sounds like you've got the major lessons from the experience down pat.

Re: For the first time ever, I am truly afraid
I don't know what it is or why but I have an anxiousness that I cannot shake. While part of me believes nothing will happen in the next few weeks, another part of me is worried and nervous.

I am a tough broad, haha. I have faced many trials throughout my life.

Some that I look back on and wonder, what was I thinking?

Like the time my oldest daughter was being bullied and 15 girls showed up at my house to "confront" her. I ran out onto my lawn with a baseball bat ready to swing at anyone that attempted to harm her. Needless to say my psychotic behavior that night paved a better road for her at school because no one wanted to mess with the girl with the lunatic for a mother.

I faced sickness, almost losing my home, raising my girls alone, and countless other scenarios. It is life, nothing spectacular and nothing that no one else faces. But I faced it head on, never backing down and with no fear. I believe in God, heart, body and soul.

I am afraid. I don't know what to expect and I don't know if I have done enough in my life or helped my girls enough.

I mean that's what it is all about, right? Doing for others. I hope I have done enough, I hope I have taught my girls so that they have done enough. I hope I haven't wasted too much time because for once in my life, I am afraid.

 Quoting: NothingFancy

Picture chaos all around you, troops, etc......the whole works.

Go and sit on your back porch......and wait on the Lord.

He is easily able to get you out of there.......or send His angels to deliver you out of there.

But you first must have faith......to believe this.....in advance.

So all of us need to work on our faith.......to have just a mustard seed of faith.

This is the type of faith......whereby a boy.....went out to do battle with a giant.......with just a sling and a stone.

See also Psalms 27: 5
Psalm 31:20
Psalm 34: 7
Psalm 91

The Lord instructs us to "Fear Not" and "Be Anxious for nothing." These feelings however can easily creep up on us. They are from the flesh......and the Spirit is continually battling the flesh.

Turn everything over to the Lord......including your daughters......and let Him take care of things. He is their Creator.

"Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers. And under His wings you shall take refuge. His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

"You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

"A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked.

(Believe these things in advance.....and you will have no stress; stress and fearfulness are the opposite of faith)

"BECAUSE YOU HAVE MADE THE LORD, WHO IS MY REFUGE, EVEN THE MOST HIGH, YOUR HABITATION.......(therefore)

no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

(We must not be trusting in our own efforts, things, etc. If it is indeed the end times......all hell will break out in the world......and our own measly efforts will not be able to protect us)

God: "Because he has set his love upon Me......therefore.....I will deliver him."

I just find it annoying that threads that are actually thoughtful and informative almost never appear, and when they do, they are immediately disappeared.

But, this kind of bullshit thread, the kind where you assume the OP is going to reveal something that would be a CAUSE of her fear....after all that IS the alleged topic, turn out to be nothing more than a narcissitic brag-fest.

Did any of you ever notice that this type of thread, the brag thread, are virtually NEVER initiated by MEN?

I would say that this genre is 100% female dominated.

Now does that mean that the people, maybe men, who start this type of thread hate women, maybe for the reason demonstrated here, and want everyone else to hate them too?

Does it mean that the people, maybe men, who start this type of thread want women to realize how incredibly annoying this type of behavior is to themselves (men) and everyone else, and knock it off?

Does it mean that women, and women alone, really, really possess incredibly sucky personalities?

You decide.

Wow...u mad dude?

So this lady shared some of her life, and that she is indeed a badass mom...in case you've been livin' in a damned cave all your life, most moms I know are extremely protective of their young, hence the survival of the species, you penis-owners included.

How is it wrong that someone start a thread, with a subject that is quite common amongst many of us humans in the world right now? Many of us are at the least a little apprehensive about what might be comin' in the next few weeks. I know I am!

If you think all women, and women alone, really really possess sucky personalities, you must never have found one of us good ones. Poor thing.
