At root, the problem of job loss exists because Democrats, starting with FDR, tried to spend their way into prosperity.

"jobless benefits" are 26 weeks--and you should have to show, each week, to get the next check, asigned card indicating where you applied, in person, for work.

Ive heard several people state "Ive paid for it" or " I pay taxes and UI". Yes employees pay taxes but not UI. I am a business owner, I pay the UI premiums which are 9.4% of an employee's quarterly wages .Not one penny comes from an employees pocket.
Just another premiums as is workers compensation,commercial activity tax, We also have to match your medicare and s.s. taxes on your wages.

Jobless benefits seem to have become an incentive at both ends of the spectrum.. on one hand Congress realizes an opportunity to pork barrel another extension with sweeping constitutional amendments, tax benefits & handouts to big business.

At the other end of the extensions people figure.. why bother looking for work. When they can stay home & receive up to 75% of their last salary + benefits, free food, free utilities, cellphones, computers, free clothes & in some cases they might even find themselves living in a free million dollar subsidized condominium.

Built from the last round of shovel ready, make work.. pork barreled government infrastructure programs. Poverty has become the fastest growing industry in America.. & business is booming.

Same as welfare. It was established as "TEMPORARY" HELP. Not generations. Once upon a time it was a help. Today its a lifestyle. I knw plenty of morons that say " Im not going back to work, I get paid sitting on my ass" These are the ones we need to exterminate.

If they didn't outsource jobs overseas, bring in 13 to 18 million illegals, bring in millions of immigrants, and hire millions of H1 and H2 workers on visas, then there wouldn't be so many unemployed. Kind of glad that the poor are eating the rich.
