The fuck are you talking about? 500-600$ are you crazy?! With that money go buy a real fucking gun.

Of course you are correct, but that was not the question.

Other than that, I agree with your logic 100%... if it is legally possible depending on the nation and jurisdiction.

Im sorry but what jurisdiction in the States doesn't allow a long barrel firearm?

It depends on the situation. A past felon in some jurisdictions, for example, may not own a long barrel firearm but may own an airgun.

In some states, an airgun is considered the same as a firearm. In others, it is scanned at checkout with your milk.

In some states, a past felon may not own an airgun because it is considered under the same laws as a firearm after someone discovers that large game can be brought down with them.

The issue with blackpowder firearms is much the same, as are crossbows. It depends.

Once outside of the United States, it becomes even more difficult.

A valid question from the Original Poster I suppose, but maybe not the answer they were looking for.

If the intent is for self-defense without the purchasing of a firearm (which is what I got out of the question), then the logical starting point would be "what is the most powerful".

Blackpowder rifles and handguns can hold up to 6 shots. They can be very powerful, but require practice and specific skills to keep loaded and ready. First choice.

Second choice would be crossbow, followed by a bow and arrow.

If none of this matters, then a firearm is the way to go. A female of small stature and with little training is typically best served with a straightforward setup. A .410 pump shotgun is an ideal starting point.

What you've stated is correct but im struggling to take the OP seriously. She says she has kids and need it for protecting. What kind of mother wouldn't go the extra mile to ensure her kids safety. What blows my mind is she's willing to settle on wasp spray like wtf? Glad she's not the mother of my kids.
