Re: Tornadoes in Dreams
I always have dreams of tornado's or helicopters...both terrify me, which is probably why they recur...

One time I remember a dream where I woke up in a brass bed with stark white sheets, placed on cement, in the middle of a meadow (kinda). Next to the bed was a dead tree...There were chains on the bed (i believe they were secured to the cement, ultimately), but I wasn't in them...It was dark, but not pitch black and a humongous tornado was coming toward me...I remember being in a panic because there was no where to go...

Freaking weird, huh?

All dreams are weird. Did you wake up before the tornado got to you?

Re: Tornadoes in Dreams
Here you go OP, the most accurate interpretation I can find.

Tornado

To see a tornado in your dream suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive?

To dream that you are in a tornado means that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. Your plans will be filled with much complications and you will be met with a series of disappointments.

To see several tornadoes in your dream represent people around you who are prone to violent outbursts and shifting mood swings. It may also symbolize a volatile situation or relationship.

**See The Meaning In Action - [link to dreammoods.com]
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1764524

In the dream I was "sucked up into it" However i was able to maneuver through air pockets and get myself out. The second tornado dream I was able to send it on a different course so to speak.

In the first there were 4 tornadoes.
Only one in the second.

first things first

what did you watch the few hours before you went to bed or the whole day

were you hear on GLP reading?

did you see a tornado thread did you see pics?

then this stays in your memory and it the dream should be dismissed...

your mind was just picking up tid bits of what you saw... your brain fixes it self when you sleep...

kinda like a defrag on your pc where things are tossed out and organized... your brain does this while you sleep..

Nope at work all day. It has been an interesting week. But no t.v really. Wasnt on the computer much either. Normally I can see the influences of my daily life on my dreams.

Even more odd my mother dreamt of me and her and a tornado as well last night

I have had a dream in which i died. I wont describe all of the dream but i was shot in the chest and gasped my last breath. Everything went dark for like 10 seconds. when i awoke i wasnt breathing. Just curious if others have had similar experiences because "they" say you cant die in dreams.

Very interesting thread. I've bookmarked it for when my brain is functioning properly. :-) I am old and it's too late for me to focus, ha ha ha! That you were shot in your dream, seems odd to me, even though that does seem to be common.

Something else that was noted...most smokers are not smokers in their dreams...I don't smoke in my dreams, either. Wonder if that is because our dreams are only minutes long? Long enough for an event or series of events to happen, but not long enough for our true selves to emerge in them...

I've heard that with each change of scenery is the start of an altogether different dream, even if the same people are in the dream. I don't know if this is valid, but it is something to give thought to when trying to interpret a dream.

My mother and my oldest child have prophetic dreams at times. Dreams are oftentimes the most interesting thing about a person. :-) hehehehe

The last three years, I have not dreamed very often. Or haven't remembered them very often. I believe it is the former and not the latter, no matter what anybody may say.

For most of my childhood and a decade or more (gotta be more) into my adulthood, I was plagued by the worst nightmares...I would often wake my children because I'd carry on so much in a dream. They, in turn would wake me and tell me to be quiet, lol, because I was keeping them up at night.

For the last three years, I have been almost entirely free from dreams. Odd.
