Arizona - Did anyone else see the lights in the sky tonight? **PIC added ** | |
SkinnyChic (OP) User ID: 29478894 United States 12/10/2012 01:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not the light to the top right...that is a street light. it's the lights further back in the pic...the brighter ones that look like an upside down v. I don't know what the dimmer lights are in the back...I did not see those when taking the pic..so a reflection of the bright lights maybe? Quoting: SkinnyChic Yes... At the level of the street light in view. How long did this go on? I would say a total of less than 4 minutes they were floating down..not fast ( but also in and out in reappearing in new side positions) until they went behind tree lines and houses and I couldn't see them anymore. 4 minutes is a long time.... Do you have military bases near you? Sounds almost like flares dropped. Williams but it is south east and these were directly east. Imagine a helicopter engulfed in flames more than 10 miles away but in the sky. That's how big they were. |

I'm not saying that is what you saw, only that it made me think of them. Only you know what you saw... So, if you say it was bigger than that and stranger, then I'll go with that. I think it's interesting tha they're in a nice triangle formation. Flares often are like a string of pearls... Pretty much in a straight line. One of these days... A *REAL* rain is gonna come and wash all this scum off the streets. |

Maybe extra large military flares? Seriously, it would be nice to have an answer. Would they go in and out and have a spiral tail? Do we have a winner? Maybe wind moved them sideways? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 15256858 United States 12/10/2012 02:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have been seeing "falling stars" here in Albuquerque, NM ......twice this week. The one last night....well, if I had not been on my porch and looking right in that direction I would have missed it. It appeared to just pop out of the night from no where...had a yellow tail....last maybe two seconds and then disappeared... no sound. the one previous to this one was all white and white tail and last a little longer...but the one last night just looked odd. |

But no smoke. The tail was the same color, but like if you would draw a spiral off of it. Even for how far away it was these things were really big, so you could see the spiral perfectly. I keep searching the net for a pic to match as well. |
SkinnyChic (OP) User ID: 21099030 United States 12/11/2012 02:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Flare tard Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29077765 That is how long flares last on average and they leave a tail or trail as they descend. BE AFRAID BE VERY AFRAID!! you are an idiot You are not a nice person and I feel sorry for you. look at how often I make a thread...very rare. obviously I thought this was important. having worked for DOD I am aware what a flare looks like. So call me whatever you wish if it helps your ego to feel better. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29286215 10:27pm here in apache junction right now. It would have been around 8:15p when I saw them. but believe me...if I see them again I'll jump back on and tell you! Be prepared. It is good you marked time. Get mono-pod or tri-pod and camera. If you take the time to look up, ya gonna see something abnormal. Train your eyes to look in the deep upper atmosphere. Look for Star sized objects. Like spotting "satellites," only they are not satellites. "They cannot see what's-up if They are looking down." (TastyThoughts) "Something is smelly! I am currently in the beginning stages of making a documentary about the legends and myths of Apache Junction. One section will focus on lights in the sky in particular and the high volume of reports in that area. I'm collecting emails and names of eyewitnesses for those interested in giving a statement in my documentary. If this is something you'd be interested in that would be great! I just need your email and we can discuss it from there. It won't be for another year or so but for now I'm conducting research. Thanks!!! |

Lemmon, and I saw the most amazing fireball. It was huge! To me, it was the size of a basketball, so it was obviously very close. I watched it streak from the northwest to the southeast, breaking up until it was gone. By far the best falling star I've ever seen. It figures, I always miss the good stuff. I live pretty close to Mesa Gateway. We just had an incredibly low flying jet come over our house. We have them from time to time, but this one was really load and seemed to linger a bit longer than normal. I was sitting in my den honestly gritting my teeth thinking I was going to hear an explosion. I wonder if they have locked some airspace and this plane had to come in at a different angle. |

The last few years i haven't seen the night sky as much due to my trees. But yes. This is epic ufo country for sure! I have seen all kinds of "rigs" personally~ I do think those cigar shaped ones look super ancient compared with the orange orbs. |

Apocalypse Girl User ID: 42462625 United States 12/08/2013 12:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not sure how to describe it. Saw them from Gilbert looking east. 4-5 bright lights. Yellow in color. They were mostly traveling down. But would also go in and out and reappear as if jumping to a new side location. When they were bright you could actually see tails burning behind them..the tails made a spiral. called my husband out to see at which point only two were left. he has no idea either what it was. I took a pic with my crappy phone, but they were so far away and up in the sky that my pic just shows tiny dots. Wondering if anyone else saw this and what the heck it was? Thanks! Quoting: SkinnyChic spirals? wow I made a thread about possible incoming spirals .... woah ! Thread: ISON SPINNING, ancient SPIRALS , warning on ancient cave spiral art all over the world... what do you think on this !!!?? wish I could have seen it ... oh mann! You may have seen them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23755869 Also the AZ National Gaurd facility is southeast out by Florence and on occasion they launch flares which are very bright and float down on small parachutes. Use to illuminate the ground below. This may a weekend they were doing that. Thanks you AC but these were not lanterns or flares. Merry Christmas..hope your party was fun. Now I know what they were I seen them to stopped my van got out and started filming then remembered I had my binoculars and sure enough chinese lanterns and they were big ones. |
