Because Pandoras box of introducing guns to this country has already been opened. The sheer amount of firearms in this country dictates if law abiding citizens gave up their weapons the criminals that didnt would have a staggering number of weapons to ravish the unarmed population with . Americans are buying on average of 1-3 million guns per month.

On black friday alone enough backround checks <which only one check even if you are purchasing multiple arms > went through FBI servers to crash it twice in one day. I've heard there are upto 10 guns for every man woman and child in the united states at any given time in recent years. And with rumors of bans that number is exponentially increasing.

So as you can see , as long as criminals have access to these kinds of numbers of weapons common sense dictates law abiding citizens will need to remain armed if they don't want to be overtaken like chiganistan , Illinois.

You obviously should not have one.

There are too many "guns" to ever eradicate. They are simple machines and are easy to develop and replicate.

Due to the facts above it is obvious in a world such as ours that there are people who want to hurt you, or the ones you love. Accept the fact that since "guns" are simple machines everyone has one. Especially those who want to hurt you. Therefore, you must arm yourself in order to protect the things in life you hold most precious. Not because you are scared, but because you are smart enough to have thought the above equation through.

That's why we need firearms.
