I always wondered the same thing! My husband died 10 years ago when I was 32 and I believed he was the perfect fit for me. I've had many boyfriends throughout the years but have not felt the same love since him. So good question.

There are few things in this life that seem so real as your first love! But that said, there are few things in this life that are real in the first place!

One's "First Love" (usually one's first LTR, but not always) is the first one that causes the release of brain chemicals which IMPRINTS that person into your brain, much like a duck's brain get imprinted with the first one it sees when it hatches, which is usually it's mother, who it then follows around until it grows up.

Just because you are now CHEMICALLY BONDED to that person (ie: basically a chemical addiction) does NOT mean that they are good for you or that you really "fit" together ... you are just Chemically Bonded, and will probably be for life in some respects.

Arranged marriages tend to be MUCH BETTER (wrt divorce, having common beliefs and outlooks etc.) than ones where WE choose our partner based upon our "chemical addiction" precisely because arranged marriages match up people's underlying personalities and temperments much better.

It IS possible to have that chemical release again (for some it is easier than others ... or for some the first time it happeneed it was a "weak" bond to begin with), but becomes harder and harder the more one experience life and removes the rose colored glasses.

Enjoy life ... and do NOT expect that kind of bond to EVER occure again. If it happens, great, but most likely it will never happen again, or if it does only once.

It depends on what your heart tells you.

Of course, there may come a time in the future when love finds you again as it did the first time...you may not think it possible now, but give it time.
