As to the fan comment, yes, mma fans tend to be more cocky than boxing fans. Boxing fans are fans of the sport of boxing and sports fans in general. Mma fans tend to be people who know nothing about sports in general and only watch mma to make themselves feel tough. I've watched boxing for over 20 years and have watched mma since UFC 1. Both sports are just that, sports. Not a street fight, not real fighting, but a sport of fighting. One of my friends used to walk around all cocky, too, with his Ken Shamrock shirt on or whatever shirt with mma shit on it. He thought that people should fear him and stay out of his way because he was wearing that shit, too! He didn't know jack shit about sports in general, either. He thought that A-Rod was a pitcher and didn't even know that an NBA game lasted 48 minutes. One time he told me that he couldn't believe that someone cut in front of him and showed him no respect even though he was wearing his Ken Shamrock shirt! |
