Refinerie$ are used as bottlenecks for fuel ,,, ooops does this mean the price of diesel will rise dramatically soon ?

Didn't they recently shut down the Kurnell refinery in

I was told by a refinery worker last Wednesday night that things were looking to get so bad that they are planning to introduce the odds and evens numberplate system to ration the fuel sometime this week. I am aware that several stations in Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong (no small rural backwater towns by any means) are out of diesel fuel already and queues at other stations are long.

I live quite remotely and run on diesel - can't get to work, buy food, go anywhere without diesel. Don't even have public transport or a horse, and the nearest town is 17 kms away - a 6 hour walk, at least.

This could affect the whole nation - if we run out, we will be asking for supply from other states, no doubt. There's also the knock on effects of delayed/ruined harvest for next year's grain and stockfeed supplies...

Definitely something to be concerned about and remain alert to!

How dramatic! Thanks for the heads up, I was running low went to a couple of stations and they were all out, but third time lucky so tanked up.

Forgot to to fill up yesterday. Today non of the 5 I pass did have diesel. Found one on a bit of the beaten track filled up $1,59 L and put the car in the garage. Will use my husbands petrol car ( he is home for the time being) to go to work.

My lovly daugther told me" Thats expencive! All the petrol Stations I past sold diesel cheaper, for only a $1,49 but non of them had any left " .
