so I'm setting up my phone to connect to the wi-fi at my brothers house. and guess what was available. FBI Surveillance

is this just probably one of the neighbors joking around by naming his network FBI Surveillance?

Everytime my laptop searches for a signal here at home, I get the same thing. Its a very weak signal, but it is always on.

There's a meme that has been going through facebook telling people to name their home network FBI surveillance van as a joke.

The FBI would never be that open in their surveillance. This is a neighbor who thinks no one in their right mind would try to connect to the fbi's wireless

Well, if you live in Philly, I know at least one home that has it as their name. And they got the idea from someone else. It's pretty common.

my verizon guy told me hes seen customers name their network fbi, cia, nsa, kgb etc....he said the funniest one was "my wifes fishing hole"

If you think the FBI would name their network FBI Surveillance, you're hopelessly stupid.

If logic hadnt kicked in for the OP here between the time they saw the SSID and the time they posted this thread, I really have believe that there is no hope for humanity as a whole. None. Agent #2: "Just call it FBI Van 112. Then they'll think it's just a neighbor's joke & never think it's really us."

But, more than likely, it is usually just a neighbor's joke.

That's in my neighborhood too and I live in a small town. So I listed our WiFi as "CIA van watching FBI surveillance van." It just a prankster.

MY wifi is called FBI Surveillance as well. Am I employed by the FBI because if I am someone send me a paycheck... 99.9% chance it is a dick neighbor.
