Jamie Foxx opened Saturday Night Live with a controversial monologue about being black. He started the rant monologue by calling black the new white. Following up with examples and ending every sentence with “how black is that?”

Foxx crossed the line when he spoke about his upcoming, movie, Djengo Unchained, where he plays a slave. He speaks about killing all the white people and besides asking,
“how black is that” he said, “how great is that?” Based on the comments left on NBC’s website, it seems to be not great at all.

“How could you allow the racist ranting of Jamie Foxx? He killed all the white guys in his movie – it was great??It was the black thing to do? It was disgusting. It was shocking. It was un-American”

Started noticing that in movies several years ago. The black man would slug the white man for no reason. No matter what the film is - turn it off. It's hollywood junk. Their box office numbers are way down. And they cant even make films in hollywood anymore due to all the illegal aliens running the city.

Havent watched SNL in years.

i personally think that the people in the audience are worse than he is, without them encouraging foxx, foxx would be nothing.

foxx is right about one thing though, black is in and that is reflected in almost every commercial on tv.

We were in a diner in Lousianna in 1975 and the waitress actually NO ONE, would wait on us because my step-father was lilly white and mom "looked" black.

I enjoy most black comedians but something about Foxx annoys me, I turned the channel a few minutes into SNL. Now if Richard Pryor had the same monologue, his character would of made the words more humorous.

He was talking about "killing all the white people in the movie", who, it sounds, are the individuals who enslaved him. In other words, he got vengeance. OK, big deal.

It was poorly-delivered (that is to say, his words were badly chosen) and it became especially awkward when he went for the "how black is that?" callback that he was locked into at that point, but it was harmless.

And it's not fair to pull the "double standard" card when you're dealing with groups that exist within very different historical and sociocultural contexts.

"If you reversed the genders..." "If you reversed the races..." (etc. etc.) "...there would be such an uproar!"

Yes. That's because the context that one group speaks from is different than the context that another group speaks from. This concept is not difficult.

Who cares. Ignorance is the same no matter who's mouth it comes from. His garbage ass movie will bomb and take his career with it. In the end it always works itself out.
