What blocks out the Sun for the 3 days of darkness talked about in Revelations?

Where in Revelations does it say that there will be three days of darkness?

nowhere, that appears to be a catholic teaching.

what causes the darkness? That's a good question. I've always wondered that myself. Since most things like this in the bible seem to have natural causes, one would think either an object in space or ash in our atmosphere. It's impossible the sun itself could simply stop producing light, and if it did then we wouldn't have much time to panic.

I've thought about this....if it was "earth-caused", there would still be a part of the planet facing the sun. I don't believe the sun itself can go dark without a subsequent catastrophic event that would destroy both the earth and the sun itself. The only thing I can figure is an object of some kind coming between the earth and sun. To block the sun for three days, and three only, it would have to approach the earth from the relative direction of the sun. I would imagine there would be at least some indication of an object prior to the 'eclipse'.

No chance for that option !

Bigger meteor touchdown or very large volcanic eruption but only for some part of the World

could an object hitting the moon generate a dust cloud that will block a lot of the sun by day and the night the moon wont reflect either. I doubt it

Thats funny you say that i have been having dreams/visions about a large impact on the moon.

Nop, that option also is not possible ..

Anyway if something bigger hit moon we are history ..

Thats wierd. The moon gets hit all the time. I guess we havent seen a major hit. I couldnt say if the right conditions would create a dust cloud. Too dumb. Maybe someone can comment

These are all symbolism for different events in history, not literally about the sun moon and stars.

maybe earth stop rotate... effectting by surrounding planet gravity... or their natural satellite (MOON) makes those things happen.. mean while our moon too have been affected by solar flare... its goin to blown... maybe soon we have luck to watch a wonderful shower of meteorite upon earth...

i liked one theory that we are going by the gravity of a large black whole that will suck the light into it before it reaches earth

Couldn't a Mothership position itself so that it causes a type of eclipse? Wouldn't that also make the moon appear red?

Smoke causes the Moon to be Blood Red.
I have thought about the Mother Ship theory but that would have to be HUGE to block out the sun. A planet if most likely. Or smoke it it going to be smoke it happens around 2028 i was told.
