Monsanto should change their tagline to "What will we GMO next?"

prop 37 is in defense of new labeling guidelines that permits GMO products to be labeled as organic.

the entire organic label has been contaminated.
supermarkets have replaced a large portion of their truly organic products with GMO "organic" replacements already.

im not seeing anyone expressing awareness to this fact.

Exactly, companies are hiding behind the lack of governance in that area. The only way to change that is for people to vote with their dollars once they become aware.

I see in my local food store that there is a company called "organic (R)' in the produce section. They put there name on the front label organic. They are not organic but for the sheep not knowing any better they would look at the label and think it's organic. This company is totally deviant in their advertising practice.

i looked at the list of companies that supported prop37 (IIRC) and noticed heinz on there. i found some entertainment in mentioning them on facebook, noting that i'd not buy a heinz product again. fun to see that lots of other people apparently have done similar stuff.

They blocked our page on facebook because we were replying to comments others had made, showing them the article on the disinfo. The only way to make a difference is to stop buying, as unoriginal and idealistic as that sounds. Look what happened with the pink slime controversy, it just takes enough people talking.

I don't think people realize this is a good opportunity. A boycott of Heinz ketchup would get a lot of GMO attention.

Got to start somewhere. (boycott)

It's really not the store involved I think more the product. As far as the store they probably think it's organic? I'll see if I can get a photo of it.

Olivia's Organics. And the 5 UPC numbers start with 8.

– four digits beginning with a 4 = conventionally grown, may or may not be GMO
– five digits beginning with a 9 = organically grown (and to be organic you can’t be GMO),
– five digits beginning with an 8 = GMO
