It's not your fault, as I'm aware that lot of preachers and people who aren't geniuses with the bible preach the wrong thing. Truth is the Gap Principle between Genesis 1:1, and 1:2. Notice how "Created" is used when it came to Earth and heaven." And notice how created is not used until the creation of Adam, and aquatic creatures, everything else as far as the sun, moon, animals, etc, "Let, formed, made" is used. The reason is because God never creates anything that's not good. God would never create an earth that's void and desolate. Notice in Genesis 1:2 it says : And the earth WAS without form, and void;..." Was is a bad translation from the hebrew text, WAS in hebrew actually means "Became". Actually when God first created the heavens and the earth, earth was created for the angels and Lucifer to live on. There's scripture to back this up but I'm not going to get into great detail about this. Also when Lucifer says in his heart how he will "rise above the clouds, stars, and be like the most high". After the angels / lucifer rebelled against God himself, God executed judgment on the world. That's why it became VOID AND DESOLATE. That's when also Dinosaurs became extinct from the catastrophe that took place. Millions of years went by, demons became disembodied spirits roaming in darkness. Until later when God allowed his Light from his Glory, to show upon the earth once again...Let there be light. Now going back to the term "made" being used for animals, when "Created" is used, it's because its something entirely new into existence that was created. If it once existed before, then made is used. Animals and everything were first created with the earth, so was the moon, stars and sun. But after judgment God basically "remodeled" everything back to new, but we still have the same earth. Obviously our sun and planets which already existed was remodeled as well to be able to be suitable to support life, because obviously if not the sun would probably be really small right now. As far as the stars in the outer heavens, I'm sure they're still the same. Old earth, young creation. This is just some brief input off the top of my head, if you want to study this in greater detail I invite you to read this book by Pastor Max D. Price. It's a free ebook online. The truth about evolution, or don't let satan make a monkey out of you! [link to www.heritagebbc.com] |

God had a great sense of humor and made everything look old just to screw with us. More likely god would have let the universe develop itself for billions of year, that's the only way to make it stable and durable... And then the Els teleported eons ahead in time and breeded the hominids. But it's undeniable, the universe gazed through telescopes, it's billion years old, the time taken for some stars to light travel to earth is in the order of thousand years. And Carbon dating cannot detect anything beyond 5700 years. The geological stratifications tell in what period of time the matrix with foxils was formed. So simple... Are you looking for sigillaria and lepidodendron fossils? Go for carboniferous deposits, dig up the carbon constituted layer. Same as for diamonds, you won't dig diamonds in calcareous rocks. They only are boasted by Kymberlite. |

Course, I'm a scientist at heart too, but using only what is available to us, to say the earth is only 6k old is not using your noodle. i've pondered that one when i was younger... perhaps the 7 days are not akin to our thinking of 'time' whatsoever... problem solved for me :) Yah. The earth is not 6000 years. Geologists can figure this out by looking at the layers of dirt deposits on the side of a mountain cliff. Come on ya silly butts. But that doesn't mean I don't believe there are truths in the bible. Which I have been getting into. But look at the billions of galaxies/stars/planets etc. in the universe. 6000 years? Is ridiculous thinking. |
