Re: Grammar Nazis I need your help!!!
my english sucks so help me please

I want to tell a childhood crush that I'm happy to see her again. Didn't see her for 10 years!

What's the right grammar? She doesn't understand our language.

I'm happy to see you last night or I'm happy to have seen you last night?

Thanks!!!

Well... "I'm happy to see you last night" implies that you have been waiting for her. (Like a crazy stalker)

"I'm happy to have seen you last night" implies a nice surprise.

You make the choice.

What is this bullshit?
Shut up with your stupid, ignorant advice.

I suggest "I'm so happy to have seen you again last night."
But I'm not sure exactly of the context you intend.

WTF??? You looking for conflict?

"I'm so happy to have seen you again last night."
and
"I'm happy to have seen you last night"

are virtually the same sentence.... (With the addition of the words "so" and "again")

So, if you suggested that, I was in agreement with you.

If you're still like to quibble about it. I'm game.

You're over analyzing. Just be yourself and the words with flow. Perfection isn't the answer.

"Implies that you have been waiting for her"?
"Implies a nice surprise"?

It was so good to see you last night, I've missed you.

That conveys you've thought about her...

Ohhhhh...this is beyond easy...

cruise

You tell her...

"Me love you long time..."

chuckle

Or...you could say...

"My beloved, I have held you in my thoughts these many a long year and now it is time I must let my heart sing for my love for you..."

Or something along those lines...

although...personally, I prefer...

"Me love you long time"

Does she play ping pong?

Think of it this way... Six months from now, you as an AC post in a thread where I have posted. My reply is "Oh... AC 28970212. I wondered when I's see you again" vs. "Oh... AC 28970212, I remember you"

Doesn't the first sentence imply that YOU had some affect on me and I was just waiting for an opportunity to engage again and the second more imply that yes, I remember you, acknowledging your presence and moving forward? To me, the two have different meanings....
